Do not modify the suspension:
Modifying the vehicle suspension is dangerous. If the vehicle's height or the
suspension is modified, the vehicle will be unable to accurately detect a collision resulting in incorrect or unexpected air bag deployment and the possibility of serious injuries.

Well I suppose that a 6-inch lift kit and swampers might make the front bumper override other vehicles on the road....

Come on. What could the factory engineers and designers possible know about the suspension and the airbags in the car? We're all smarter than them.

;)

^^ :D

I can see some legal liability lingo there, so, in case something happens, Mazda can say: "I told you so" or "is not part of the warranty" kind of thing

My n00b mod experience says to just stick with certified aftermarket parts, there are several authorized vendors around this forum...

I saw that too. But really only going to lower 1-1.5 inches. It's not like the side airbag sensors have a "hit here" spot!

Yeah that's what I was thinking. A sensor is a sensor, it's not going to be able to tell, especially when you're talking 1" to 1.5". I agree, lawyers got together on that.
