Stock HU amplified ?

Does anyone know if the stock HU In my 2003 ES is amplified ?

amplified as in internal in the HU? Most every unit has internal amp in the actual HU. I think you are asking if there is a seperate amp-- i dont think so.

Only the MSP has an external amplifier and is only for the sub.
The P5 also has a sub optionthat has a built in amp to the sub enclosure much like the MP3 did.

Yeah I know there is no amp in the car, I meant does the stock HU have a built-in amp, considering how little power it makes?

Is the power being sent to the speakers comparable to the signal of an RCA pre-out signal on an aftermarket HU ?

If the radio didn't have an internal amp you would hear nothing!
