Stock Boost Question

I believe I read somewhere on here that some stock cars are NOT making the claimed 6.5 lbs of boost...I take it you can find out the boost level with a boost gauge but what can you do if you find you are not running the factory boost? I know you can change the boost yourself, but I want to avoid changing that stuff myself so I don't void the warranty. Can you bring it in to Mazda and tell them to set it at the correct level?

Also, I thought I read that you will void your warranty (a dealer told this to someone, I think) if you install a boost gauge...Is that true or I have to check with my local dealer to see how dick they are about warranty issues?

Thanks!

I think that it really depends on the dealer about the warrenty. My tech said that it would not void any warrenty if I installed gauges. But every dealer is different. I would go to another dealer and ask them if you can do that.

I installed my boost gauge about a week before I took it to the dealer & they didn't even mention it. Gauges are only for monitoring, so they don't change anything & if they give you s***, just show them the SEMA documentation.

I agree. I would think that they would help because you are taking the time to monitor the viltals of you car. But you know how dealerships are.

(shuddering)....don't.....mention....warranties....please.....

Mazda only claims 6.9psi PEAK boost. It could sit at 1psi for all they care!

id love to see a dealer try to void a warranty for a gauge.. that would be funny.
Also, dealers cant void your warranty, MNAO has to... so dont let a dealer deny any work, and if they try to, call a lawyer. :)
