I'm trying to put the stock air box back on and I can't seem to get it to fit with the rubber gasket seal...Can i put it back on without it, or would that cause air leakage?

thanks

You need that rubber gasket for it not to leak. It should shove right on. Make sure you have it pointed out, so the box slides on.

Why are you putting the box back on? 'Just curious.

WATCHOUT!!!, the calloway (SP?) thing fell off mine while i was driving. i aslo could not get the rubber thing back in to place. so i just left it off and keped my custom CAI

I got it to fit..just have to push harder..lol

Well I'm putting back on to see if there's a big difference with idle, etc.. and also to help save gas...its still around 2.10 for premium here..i notice my gas mileage has not been as good with the K&N on..

And since I don't know how to make a heatshield or custom cai, i'm gonna put it back on..

Also, I'm putting back on because I plan on going to the dealer more often now about hesitation/stumbling and the other things, and I don't want them to have any excuses or reasons...so I want everything to be stock for now...

Well I drove it around for awhile with the stock box and it seems the hesitation/stumbling is not as acute as it was with the K&N, and the idle problems were not occuring...can't here the BOV as much though..oh well.
