The MPI seems to have decent capability, but by the time you had the extra injectors it costs almost as much as the Haltech. The Haltech can also be used as a full stand alone while the MPI is a piggyback.brennan said:MPI or Haltech??
Not sure what math you are using. With the MPI Tuner system and stock injectors you can run up to 12psi. After that you would need the extra injectors.Mallard said:The MPI seems to have decent capability, but by the time you had the extra injectors it costs almost as much as the Haltech. If it were my money, I would buy the Haltech because of its capability over the MPI and its tuning flexability. It probably comes down to personal preference and there are plenty of MPI info threads around here that you can read.

Well I admit that I don't know the full capability of both of the systems, although I have read many threads on both. I beleive the Haltech is around $1200-1400. To me the cost over the MPI Turner is worth the ability to use it as a full stand alone, plus the ability to use larger injectors instead of putting extra ones in front of the throttle body. I feel that method is a band-aid that cannot ensure each cylinder is getting the same a/f mixture. Don't get me wrong, you guys have made nice numbers with your set-up, but this would be my preference, and is my opinion.MPNick said:Not sure what math you are using. The cost would be $795.00 for up to 12 psi. This is for both fuel and timing control. With the extra injector set up the cost is $395.00 more. We are seeing over 328whp with the set up and only 15psi. We will be back at the dyno real soon at 21psi. We should see around 350whp I am guessing.
What does it cost for the Haltech or any other system to get you to 12psi? What does it cost to get you to 350whp? What is the cost of a bigger set of injectors? Does the Haltech do timing control? Lets compare the total cost and see what it gets you.
The AFR from cylinder to cylinder is a very old debate. Not any testing has ever shown that you do not have good cylinder balance.Mallard said:Well I admit that I don't know the full capability of both of the systems, although I have read many threads on both. Because we are working off of the stock maps and only making changes for boost the MPI would be the easiest to tune by the end user. If you run bigger injectors you will need to tune the whole map from idle to redline. Even then I have not seen cars run great at idle or light throttle with bigger injectors.brennan said:ok, so I'm not that good with engine managment, so if I were to get some type of managment what would be the easiest to use or do they both need to be used by a professional.??
The WRX is a better injector for our car then the old style 440 Bosch.brennan said:Well I will most likely be getting bigger injectors. Which injectors are good for the msp, i've heard of the WRX 440cc and the Bosch 440cc
I did say it was possible, just, I think that you are pushing the upper limits of the T-25 design. It is a small turbo for those types of numbers, just saying it might be better to upgrade to a slightly larger turbo to get some higher effeciency in the charge delivery.MPNick said:We made 328whp with a T-25 that we reworked along with ported and polished the manifold and turbo exhaust housing.
That was at 15psi. We will dyno it again later this month. It now runs 21psi.
Interesting, I never thought someone would want to do all that to an A/T.cosmo420 said:i would want a beefed up auto tranny with a custom converter so it isnt as hard on the axels.
