There are probably at least 100 people on the S2ki forum alone, not counting the people that don't go onto forums, that have the Comptech or the Vortec s/c on their S2000. The ones that have stayed at stock boost level of 6psi have had upwards of 50,000 supercharged miles with no problems whatsoever. This is why I plan on installing the Vortec s/c in a year or two. It has been tested and proven to be very reliable. And 300rwhp in a 2800lb car is also good.

It can, but mine was my fault. I had the revs up to 5000 to dart out into traffic after I got stuck behind an idiot that hit a curb. So I was getting pissed because I was stuck behind him flor like 5 minutes and no one would let me out. Then I let the clutch out too slow and it just sat there and burned the clutch. Smelled like burning semi brakes.
I think it just glazed over the surface of the clutch though because it has been about 500 miles since then and it's feels like it's back to normal now. But I'm sure I took some of the life off it. I'm getting it replaced either next week or the week after though because of the "vibrating clutch" TSB recall. They will be replacing it under warranty.But I'm pretty sure the stock clutch is good up to just under 300hp. The Vortec and the Comptech s/c's put the S2000 at 280 to 310 rwhp depending on the car. Many people don't change the clutch and they say it's fine. It all depends on how you drive.
As for the 6k clutch dumps, I've only done it once or twice. The S2000 isn't meant for drag racing. If you don't launch just right, it's harmfull for the clutch, not to mention the tranny and diff.

Well, for a base price of 32k I could surely run better than a 14.xx. S2000=slow and pricey. Just like every other Honda out there.

where i work there are 4 s2k's and the owners are dedicated honda fans, one drives a nsx also. 2 of them are mugens.
stock s2k non mugens are low 15s there are a few that can pull better times just like with any car its driver and sometimes you get a wild car example: buddy has a svt focus thier 4th gear is wild and thats pretty much what does them in for beating non 6 speed foci's. tommy has a zx3 stock non svt. beat the svt, his car is just a wild one, one of a kind from the factory.
anyways, i have beat a mugen in my p5 and yes he tried all he had because i told him to meet me by 35 to race into work just to see. he complimented my car. when we got to the parking garage which i work with rich people i park next to (audi tt's, 350 z's, z8's, lotus's jags saabs you name it, the z8 is a 150K dollar car, they wanted to see my motor, i popped the hood and they loved seeing a fast wagon.
my point is this really, im not saying s2ks are slow, im not saying i can beat every one of them, im not even saying my car is fast because its not. my point is, i dont base my speed off quarter mile. running the quarter and running on the highway are way different. a viper is a fast car youd think, but it dont do good at the quarter, my friends mavrick with just a puny built 302 beat it at the track. now the viper didnt lose by much but my point is the viper wasnt built for speed it was built for s*** loads of FUN torque.
all cars are built for diff things. if you cant beat it on the road, then you need to go back and make it faster, to me thats where it counts. cause if your next to me on the highway, thats when we go. sorry for the thread jacking but i thought id vent after blowing my tranny today. i guess stock autos cant take the 250 whp very long

There is no such thing as a "Mugen" S2000. There are Mugen parts you can install on the S2000 including, header, CAI, ECU, thermostat, and other ugly body parts. But really and truely, the mugen parts don't really do that much for the S2000. They are pretty much just overpriced wastes of money. why they list stock and mugen editions with 10 diff HP ratings who knows, these guys who breathe s2ks must not know much. patrick is not running that fast. i am pushing 250 prolly more to the wheels. ask juan, he knows, he builds turbo kits for the proteges. again, i was not knocking your s2k i love them even thought about buying one, but i like my sleeper.
anyways, thats my s*** how it is. and every s2k ive seen at the track have ran between 14.6 modded to 15.2.
i dont care about this thread anymore really, i talk to the owners and drive them alot, i know what i see and do. but ill get my new tranny soon. and up the boost to 20 and then i can beat him by bus lengths.

i run stand alone so i dont have one at all, but my speedo only goes to 140 but my laptop says i topped at 143.
when you run stand alone make sure you set your limits so that you dont over do it and blow it.
