starting issue

Hello all

I have a 2007 mazda 3 with a 2.3 engine. Just this week it takes a couple key turns to get started , it cranks but does not turn over. I put in a new battery but the problem continues. The only time this happens is after it has sat for awhile ,like overnight. Otherwise it is fine.
Can anyone assist me.

Might want to post in the regular Mazda 3 section, as so much of the electronics, injection and intake parts on the turbo engine (this part of the forum) are very different.

How can it crank but not turn over? If it turns over from twisting the key, it ain't the battery. Sounds like plugs or fuel. How many miles? Can you start it by pushing?
