Hmm...Looks O.K. I guess, but they need to showcase the FMIC more.

Still busy but a little toned down.

Indeed, better. I'm just not a fan of CF hoods on cars that aren't black. The rest of it looks good, though.

Just curious, how does a SRT stack up to Mitsubishi's Evo? That is one nice car, but so is the sticker price! I saw a Nissan Maxxima commercial last night and that thing is tight!

MisterT

Yeah the new Evo will smoke an SRT, but with the extra savings ($15K anyone?) I'm sure I could make up for the HP & 1/4 mile deficits more than easily with the price difference.

SRT's with Stage 1's and mild upgrades are keeping up or beating Evos in the 1/4 mile. I'm not bashing the Evo by any means, I love the damn car. If I had 35K laying around, I'd have one. I thought for 20K, the SRT was the most bang for the buck. And with Mopar's large aftermarket coming out for this car, it shouldn't be long before you see this car beating some serious ass.

And z00mer: I don't know where you got your information from, but Mopar has not released the Stage 2 kit, and none of the upgrades are chips. So if you're getting it from the kid that drives the SRT, he's full of s***.

$35,000 lying around....

350Z Track Edition or STi (possibly). Not to fond of the looks of the EVO. Better in person - but still looks like Pontiac designed the front. And Pontiacs? Well; they simply, are ugly cars. Ha! (lol)

And 1/4 mile? 'Doesn't interest me. That's about all many of my co-workers care about (oh that,,,and Nascar - (puke)). They drive Mustang GTs, etc....Dull, boring cars. They don't understand the art of 'also' turning right.

Quiksrt4 you should check your numbers the magazine I read said they made 8000 SRT's I will go back and find where I read that

Road and Track June 2003 pg 112. Quote" Dodge plans to biuld only 7500 to 10,000 SRT-4s ayear at its Belvidere, Illinois assembly plant,"

600 Orange Mazdaspeed proteges
I love my MAZDASPEED

A Mopar/PVO rep is a frequent poster on one of the SRT forums I frequent, and he said there were only 3,275 made. I have several magazines that say a lot more than that, also...but it was posted on the forums a while back, when I find the thread I'll post a link.

the maxima could have had a sr20det but the front wheel version, I know nissan makes that.
if that was the case your friend would have been screwed right from the get go.

Should last a while. These 2.4L DOHC's have been around down in Mexico in their Stratus for around 6 years with no reported problems. They're also turbocharged down there for their police cruisers, so this isn't a new engine by any means.

We shall see how it holds up after time.

First let me say I love the SRT-4, that is one fast car, I also LOVE MY MAZDASPEED. I do not claim to know everything but I do read A LOT. I think your boy is pulling your leg. I have read that # in a lot of magazines and even the general manager at the Dodge dealer here in Naples when I was looking at one said the # was going to be about 8000. But like I said I don't know everything. Sometimes people you talk to think they do, like dealers, I think they are all full of it. You have one sweet car. I was just riding with my buddy he has one he upped the boost and but a blow off valve and that car flys. My speed would not touch him in the 1/4. give me a few months and I might be close if he does nothing else.

I just got appproved for 24,900 at my local dodge dealer... I am wondering if the srt4 is worth it.... have the srt as a third ride? anyone know what the insurance rate is going on them? I am so seriously thinking of going on down and taking a look at one.. as there is a black one on the lot.

That's a sweet car for a third car . Insurance will kill you if your young. Tell them its a Neon and leave it at that. Just kiddin:D

3rd car for sweetness factor - Beck 550 Spyder

The funny thig Is my second car is the maxima that supposedly beat the srt! It is the wifes ride...was mine, until I got the pro5. I made the mistake of getting a kia for her commuter car and she almost got killed in it when the transmission suddenly goes out for no reason... and a semi ran her off the road that was behind her. She refused, with good reason, to get back in the ride... So I took over it for work, and main the problem kept occuring despite swapping out the ecu and transmission, and having a specialist fly out to fix it.... the dealership bought it back and I got my cash plus 1500.00 to use on any of their dealers.. across the street was the mazda dealership and that was all she wrote. I only had the damn kia for 6 months.. it was jacked!! So dont get a kia man!! Now as for Dodge I am skeptical as I have heard some build issue qualities... Plus the wife would probably kick my ass for getting the srt... but man... it sounds like lotsa fun!! My ass would have NO cash to spend.
