As for the stat just pick up a copy of the mag at a newstand and look. They reprint the stats every month.

"Yashooa" yes you are right. The mazdaspeed protege does turn the 1/4mile times at anywhere from 14.9-15.1sec (STOCK). lawerence pulled a 14.9@92.85mph stock. The MSP is a well put fined tuned machine that is better than any of it's competitors for the price that it is at. Even I think it's better than the WRX, even though the WRX is a AWD car. But you see us PPl here on the website know that we can't compare the WRX to the MSP. Why b/c the WRX is more made for a WRC car that is AWD. I always here this" the MSP should not be compared to this or that "blah-blah-blah". Neither should the Dodge Neon SRT-4 should be compared to the WRX, even though the performance wise is the same, but nowhere in the price range or class abillity that it has compared to the WRX. The lancer Evo is something to compare to the WRX or WRX STi. The SRT-4 should be compared to the MSP- SpecV, jetta GTI, SVT Focus, etcc...

And to end the argument here is for everyone to look at, for the millionth time.

It is MPH not Time

mp3 - 64.8 mph
msp - 68.3 mph

As you can see the msp is quicker through the slalom

The MP3s, 10 hot cars, artical back in November 2001 listed a 68.5 mph slalom.
Interesting how stats can change isn't it?

Actually if you're gonna compare the 2, make sure there both featured in the same magazines,"b/c if not then i could top the MP3's #'s with the (SCC) #'s which they posted a slalom for the MSP at 70.3mph

The SRT will do just as good or better than the PT Cruzer due to trendyness forced on the market thru advertising. Once one kid gets one another one will have to have one! It is just good to see the American companies getting into the Import scene. It's Chevy's turn to beef up that POS Cavalier and get into the game. CHEVY IT'S SAFE NOW, everybody's doing it!!!!! no car compagny in the WORLD would promote street racing as blatantly liek this video, and the use of this girl in the video is pretty far from Daimler Chrysler's marketing strategies.

AS for the debate on wich is better.... to each is own.

For handling, I say Mazda,
For brute power , I say SRT4
For not getting stuck in the snow, get a wrx.


It all depends on what you want to do with a car.

If you want finish quality and looks and all that no-go stuff, stay with your 15.0 MSP, wich is as fast as a stock non-intercooled 18 year old Omni.

listen , idont like the neons because they are POS.
they always have been and always will be. they have a proven track record as s*** boxes. just because they decided to enter the turbo market does not make them any better than before.if you have a sweet spot in your heart for it fine but its my opinion they are s***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
period. and yes i have driven it and can say they are POS. also one of the most advantageous things about the MSP was that it was for the most part thought out very well before production to get a nice balance of engine performance and handling. what i mean by that is they didnt skimp and put a LSD in when the majority of the others including the NEON DIDNT>
they did give the speeds a chance with a solid platform to work with.

Actually he is probably just little upset about certain MSP owners thinking the car is a god machine all mighty and compares to nothing else. The sheer ignorance that is portrayed by some owners is nothing short of amazing.
You look at most other forums and people are able to discuss the SRT-4 in a civilized manner about the strengths/weakness and how they truly apply.

Here the most people get hung up on are calling it silly names, and closing their minds.
Its mostly comical and good for a few laughs, but now it is just giving the MSP a bad owner reputation.
