I guess the point I was trying to make was that the little spot where the other guy's intake was touching the radiator hose probably isn't heating up the intake air anymore than the rest of the things under the hood do even if it wasn't touching the radiator hose at all.protegeDaryl said:its pretty close to the motor...u do have a header... wrap it up with heatwrap.. my tube gets a lil warm now,but no where near as hot as it use to get
thats odd usally a header heats up the whole engine bay pretty quick.. iwas statein to wrap the header not the intake...i12drivemyMP5 said:Oh & btw, the intake got just as hot with the oem exhaust setup.

I notice that after a good engine warmup that the intake tube becomes very warm from the radiator hose. My guess is that this may warm up the air inside the intake, thus almost defeating it's purpose. Anyone have ideas?
1. I thought about wrapping the radiator hose, but will that cause harm to the hose over time and failure.
2. Some kind of heat shield, but there is no room.
3. Wrap the intake tube, but it will not look good.

sweet, let us know... i really like that u can hear the hissing more seems louder when u floor it as welljamesk said:thanks protegedaryl, that was really helpful and i was able to do the samething you did. now that i have but the intake this way, i really can feel the difference in my car now, and i was able to see the peformance gain electronically. i have this g force meter made by beltronics and it tell you peformance that your car puts out like 1/4 mile times, g forces and horsepower. usually at max i hit about .28 g's on the first gear. but now with the intake setup, i am able to go into the mid .30's, and your able to really feel the difference when it does. thanks for everybodys help on this fourm, ill do the quatermile tomorow and tell you what kind of peformance gain i got out of that!
