squeaky seats?

i was just about to look up if there are any threads about this issue. mine just started a while ago. what to do about it?

The TSB has fixed the noise for some...and others have sought out their own fix and been successful. My local dealer did the fix for me, but added an extra set of pads. We'll see if it comes back when the cold weather arrives here in FL.

And there was a TSB for the squeaky seat/seatbelt, too:

Incidentally, I just realized my MS3's VIN is within the qualifying range. I never did go in to get the TSB done. I guess the WD-40 did the trick.

check around the "how to" section or do some searching on here, there are plenty of threads about this, and do-it-yourself fixes.

granted if you're under warranty the free labor from a dealer visit is nice, but they're going to want to hear the noise for themselves. and this type of noise (at least for me) is something that the components usually have to be cold, and the ambient temp has to be cold as well. this is why i never took mine in to get fixed, it was just too intermittent and the one time i decided to make an appointment (during winter) it ended up being 70 degrees out so it never made noise.

id take mine to the dealer to get the dash squeaks fixed, but they'd blame it on the vibes from the TRZ MM for sure :(

Yeah. My passenger seat started squeaking several months ago on my '08 speed3 and the driver seat is starting now. I will see what the dealer says about the TSB. I'm a DIY kinda guy but if the hardware isn't correct, lubing it up will only mask the problem and it will just keep coming back. I dont want to have to keep oilng them. I am pretty anal too. I'll let you know what they say

Yeah ill check out the do-it-yourself threads we have in here cuz taking it to the dealer is a pain and will most likely take like 4 hours to fix something small like that... but like the other guy said...I dont want to be dealing with it all the time...i already did that with my 96' Honda for a while. Ill probably end up taking it in for the dash and do the seatbelt myself...thanks though, appreciate your concern...

The dealer did my windshield and got rid of some of the squeaks and creaks but in the cold I can still hear them. They are just not as loud. And they didnt put my wipers back on correctly so I had to adjust them myself (smash)
