Sqeaking in front when shifting

Hi all,

I have a little worry and I don't know where it's coming from.
I hear a squaking sound coming from the front end whenever I shift gears or play with the gas pedal, as if something was moving up front.
Any ideas where it might be coming from.
The car drives fine, but it just drives me nust taking off at stops and hearing squeak squeak squeak squeak.

Thanks in advance!

Sway bar bushings? Mine does the same thing I'm thinking it could be related to the motor mounts (mine are bad) its would explain the squek when the motor moves. But I agree it does get really annoying

I looked at the motor mounts and they seem fine (note that I probably wouldn't see a difference if they weren't). as for sway bar bushings, where are they located so I can have a look? (pls forgive my incompetence!)

Under the crossmember I believe. Just follow the bar under the car that connects the 2 struts there's a thread on here that explains changing them

It's about -10 celsius out so I can't really get under the car to check.
Wouldn't the bushings squeak when going over bumps in the road too? (that isn't the case right now)

Well, if it was motor mounts, your gear shift would be vibrating, or rocking. Could well be you control arm bushings. They are rubber like the motor mounts. I just replaced mine. I heard the squeak especially starting off in first and shifting into second. I'm still hearing a squeak sound in my front end and I'm wondering now if it's the strut mounts.
