springs

I wonder if I have to change my camber kits for those springs:

eibach, progress springs and H&R springs.

Can someone help me out and tell me out they like their suspensions, the pros and cons of each, their price, etc...

thanks a lot

I heard from someone else on these forums the eibach is a progressive piece of s***, that's all I know

It's just what I heard from another experienced member, you didnt have them for long, he said they get worst and worst over time and someone else confirmed it.

I've had my Eibachs on for about 7,000 miles and I still love them. I haven't noticed any change in the ride since I put them on.

day to day I heard goot things...but a few people auto-X'ing said diffrent...
If you don't encounter a series of turns as in a autoX you should be fine...springs I heard so much negativity about were the goldline set(Don't think the made them for Mz3 or Mz6 yet) and the ebay fake coilover set.

Main problem with eibachs is they suck with stock/suck ass shocks. I dunno why, but I experienced this on my saturn before I upgraded to kyb gas shocks. When I got my good set of shocks I noticed at lot better responsiveness and the vehicle didn't feel "loose". But I will point out one thing. The pro-kit is basically a beginner's set of springs, if you going to auto-x then you are only getting the best that $200 will get ya(and it's a damn good $200, if I say so myself). If you actually upgraded to thier sportline series or better, you'd be speaking a lot differently. So overall Eibachs are better than 75% of the crap out there in the same price range.
Anywho, As with anytype of suspension upgrade with springs/shocks or coilover systems you WILL need an alignment check. I'm not sure about camber though, depends on how far out of alignment they throw your suspension off. Personally I didn't need anytype of camber kit with my saturn, just a re-alignment.

thats not a downfall of the springs themselves but the downfall of the owner running lowered springs on stock struts, all stock struts will wear out allot quicker on lowered springs, most within a year.

as for the alignment...GW has a how-to for your mazda 3's to get around alignment and compressing IIRC(cool)

Day to day it should be fine but for what they are they have to be good for auto-X'ing in my opinion cause that's the reason most people get new springs.

ok so if you lower your ride with lets say eibachs or ... do you need camber kits and new shocks?? If I just lower it with Eibachs or ... am I going to mess up anything ????
Thanks !

The shocks and struts will be fine but the rear camber will go negative.
There are no camber kits available yet, so you either live with it or engineer a way to fix it yourself.

Why would they?
They're doing exactly the same job as they were before, just in a different extension range.

What do you mean by beginner's spring?

most people get springs for looks and cause many members online told then to get rid of the wheel gap :)

What I mean is pro-series springs are like a stage 1 kit, the Sportline series is Stage 2, the RACE series coilover is stage 3, etc etc.

Don't missunderstand what I'm saying though. For your everyday driving needs the pro-series will deliver everything you need, but when you start competing in autocross events, you will see the major differences between a Pro-series and a sportline-series and the need to upgrade. What I was saying earlier, was don't bash eibachs b/c their "beginner" series springs aren't as good as other "race" series sets. If you are gonna compare eibachs with other companies at least compare them evenly using the same series sets or according to price.

Right now I want to wait for Tein to make a RA series Coilover for the 3, but who know how long it'll take them to make it. If they aren't ready in 4-6months I'm going with eibachs till they do come out.

yeah i'd have to say about 75% of spring buyers are kids wanting a dropped look, not autocrossers.

most spring ive dealt with the stock struts and shocks will wear out allot quicker on lowered springs. heck even some aftermarket strut companies won't warantee their struts if they are on springs that are lowerd a certain amount.

depends

It depends on the car and how big the drop is. I owned a Vibe with Hotchkis springs(2", 1.5 drop). They were on the car for 1.5 yrs and worked great. There are people on the Matrix forum with Eibachs,TRD springs on there cars for 2 yrs with no problems. Now, there people that dropped their cars with coil over sleeves and blew the stock struts. Too much drop!

you can drop the car.......but to a certain point before you screw ride quality and now the sits way past bumpstops. You can run a nice drop and then go a series smaller in tire(if you aren't running on a 35 series tire right now:rolleyes: ) to get alost 2 inches and not screw ride quality at the expence of speedo error(speedo says 60...car is going like 54-56) and wheel gap still being there. :)
