Spark Plugs

Hi,

I have Mazda Protege 1997 DX/FS, 91000 Miles so far. I was wondering when is the time to change the spark plugs - even though I do not have any problems I am kind of paranoid about it.

Thanks,
Konstantin

If they are original it is probably worth the ~$15 it will cost to buy new plugs and replace the old ones.

If this is your first time changing spark plugs be careful not to tighten them too much. You might even want to get a torque wrench to make sure they're all within spec.

I highly recommend the Nology silver plugs. I had Iridiums before the silver and I noticed a hell of a difference when the silvers went in :)

ya those E3's are a bit pricey but i've heard nothing but good news about them, from what i've heard they should pay for themselves with the gas you'll save. But that being said i've always been a believer in you get what you pay for...in most cases anyway
