So tickets are fun................................not.

Got pulled over after work today for none other than......drumroll please......a tinted license plate cover. Wootwoot. It's been on for over a year, and noone has said anything about. My father has had them for over ten years, no problems.

Talk about revenue generation. I hope that cop feels that he made the community safer by pulling over and giving a ticket to a poor ass college student.

yeah definately. At least it's not a moving violation. I've got enough of those to kill a forest.

how much was it for? i remember one time a cop pulled my mom over cause he said he couldnt see her license plate well enough, yet there was absolutely nothing covering it. again those cops in the flowery branch/oakwood area were pretty bad. they would pull people over on 985 and give tickets for 1 mph over

flower branch is where I got my 29 over. He didn't catch up until buford. (I didn't see him)

I'm not sure how much it is for. I haven't called yet.

My first ticket was in downtown FB (35 mph zone) above the train tracks... I was zipping through there at 58. Oops. A tinted license cover got you? If it were me, I'd probably have wet myself and been fully engulfed in laughter. I mean, seriously? I bet he DID feel pretty good. How would explain that ticket to his colleagues. "Well Jack, I saw this white Protege and I thought to myself.... 'That bastard has a tinted license plate cover. I better pull his ass over.' " If I was his co-worker, he would be hazed for at least a year.

when I had my protege, I had a tinted cover and a cop driving by (I was parked) recommended I remove it because I could get a ticket for it

he didn't bother to write one though

NEVER PAY. Take defensive driving or hire traffic lawyer to put it off for a year so cop is no show & it is dismissed or the lawyer gets it turned into some half fine non-moving offense so your record stays clear.

ticket for a tinted license plate... thats well.. a new one to me.

i havent got even a 2nd look on any of the tinted lights on mine ;) (crosses fingers)

If you get a ticket again for the same offense then you will be in some real s***. My friend got busted for something like that, had some blue lights on his car in SC. Got pulled over 2 days in a row. First fine was only $50 and ended up with a $1500 fine the second time.

Holy %&*@!!! How in God's name do you go from 50 bucks to 1500? I think that deck was rigged somewhere. Usually doesn't the PD give you like a week to change it? I remember I got pulled over for having a tag light out. He said I had a week to change it. All I got was a warning though.

Greenville county cops are pretty damn bad. My friend disconnected the lights in front of the first officer then went home and hooked them back up. In SC any blue light with the bulb visible is considered impersonating a police officer. It was only those led washer lights. He went to court after the second ticket and they said if they catch him with the lights on again it is 30 days lockup. They really don't **** around.

Where did you get the plate cover? If you have or can find the original packaging and it doesn't say for show purposes only I don't know if they can really give you a ticket for that. Unless you got it out of state and it is just a local law.

99% of the license plate covers are "for off-road use only"
In GA, you can be cited for anything obstructing the view of a license plate

i guess i need to leave my cell phone @ home when i head to SC, it flashes blue when ringing. (silly) - thats a heck of a fine though.
