Just wanted to mention that when it comes to the fog lights, there is a metal cylinder-type thing wrapped around the light bulb, and it doesn't need to be there (no glare if you pull it off.) By yanking that piece of metal out of the fog light housing, you can definitely improve the light performance, even of stock light bulbs, let alone better yellow bulbs or HID's. IMO, pull that piece of metal out of the housing before judging the fogs ineffective.
Credit goes to Rotus I think, on this little trick. I didn't even pull mine all the way out (I couldn't get my hand to contort into the right position to pull it out), I just bent it out of the way and the results are similar.
