SMIC, Midpipe

I installed CustomMSP SMIC today, along with MAMotorsports Midpipe. Both of these mods are great. The SMIC was really easy to install, the stock one is harder to get out than to put this in. I just got under the car and guided it up as my brother pulled it from the top. Once the Radiator fan is out of the way its a snap. Fitment was awesome very solid. The Midpipe went on after a drive with the SMIC, and it ******* rocks. Sounds alot better than it did. The car is definately more responsive and 1st gear is hard to not spin out in even if you only boost 2 psi. I had 5 psi stock now i'm in the 8-8.5 range. My boost gauge needle also stopped shaking. The intercooler bumped my PSI up to 7.5, the midpipe sent it up another PSI. These 2 mods are awesome and my car still looks like a sleeper. The midpipe install was very simple. Word of advice to anyone putting this mod in, get a dremel. Mazda had the bright idea to weld the bolt in 3 spots to my midpipe flange that connects to the J-pipe. I had to cut the spring and bolt to get it off. I put a wedge in the bolt by cutting it on 2 spots and broke that piece off then the nut came off. I then took the spring off and just pulled the pipe out of the holes. I got the back nut off, but the bolt head was also welded to my exhaust. I dunno if other MSP's are like this or not. But anyways this is an awesome set of mods. Sorry for my rambling i'm excited :D.

Cool, glad to hear your likin the mods. :D Always best for a Boosted car to have a better charge air cooling system, and especially exhaust breathing. :D Ejnoy but be wary, the do right man is out there. :D

Wow, the spring bolts actually came out like a dream for me...the damn rear bolts I actually ended up snapping the actual bolt in half trying to get the nuts off...I think mazda cross threaded them wehn they put them on.

Sounds awesome Rich. I'll have to see that s*** next time I come back from college. What's the most notiecable performance difference with the SMIC? I've been contemplating on getting one.

it doesn't change after driving for 5 minutes. Hasn't changed at all that i can notice. Definatley pulls harder and gave me 2psi more boost.

i drove for 30 minutes today hitting it hard and no noticable difference. Michael you remember the difference in my car that day you road with me and yours. Thats how much more of a difference it is with adding the intercooler also from what my car was prior to it. Its pretty strange it helped that much. Plus the 2psi increase. with your full exhaust dude you'll be screaming. Its hard as hell not to spin out in first and i actually started spinning in 2nd while going slow at first after engaging the clutch then nailing it, the wheels spun a little. I can spin the s*** out of 2nd quick shifting and chirp 3rd.
