Skyline release in US?

Heard a rumor that Nissan will be releasing the Skyline for US sales in 2007. I think I read a small blurb in C&D or some other car mag.

Anybody else heard this or know if it is true?

I was planning on spending money on my MSP now that the wedding's over, but saving up $18G over the next 3 years for a downpayment on a Skyline sounds lke a better way to go now.

They released the skyline like 2 years ago almost here

you know..the g35 sedan/coupe

it's a skyline 350 in japan and every other country

The Skyline (400+ hp) is looking to be released here by 2007. :D Ill try to find the details, and post em later.

the G35 is missing some of those fun little Skyline add ons though

Cough*AWD**Cough

I wouldn't get your hopes up. I remember reading a little article in R&T or Automobile in '98 that said the skyline would come over here. Glad I didn't hold my breathe on that one.

Nissan will bring the Skyline over here in 2k7 but won't call it the Skyline.I'll be just called the Nissan GT-R.:D :p

This is a GTR model I'm talking about. Not some watered down americanised version.

Here's a quote I found online:

Nissan Motor To Launch New GTR Sports Model Globally 2007

TOKYO October 22, 2003;Yoshio Takahashi writing for Dow Jones reported that Nissan Motor Co. will market from 2007 a new model of its flagship sports auto, the "GTR," as "a global car," president Carlos Ghosn said Wednesday at a round-table meeting with the media.

It will be the first time for Nissan to market the model globally. Ghosn said the company will launch the model in markets including the U.S., Europe and Japan.

The new GTR is expected to be the successor to the Skyline GTR model, which was launched in January 1998 and available only in Japan. Nissan stopped marketing that model in August 2002.

Ghosn declined to provide any sales targets for the new model.

I hope they don't do that NASTY grill work they are doing on the Maxima and Altima and Minivan right now

it's already here...see your local infinity dealer :p
now if you want a gt-r you'll have to wait

watered down american version???
we get the same skyline as the rest of the world gets

If you think the G35 sedan is the same as an R34 you are just high

John said it best the G35 is ugly as ****

The G35 is not the same as an R34 because the G35 does not have the RB26DETT engine that the mighty R34 has in the engine bay.It' s probably the same basis but in a N/A form. But the G35 coupe is the Nissan Skyline(no GT-R) in Japan.

NISSAN GT-R

Yes I know it is the current version but I think we have established that the current offering SUCKS in comparo to the previous Skyline. Therefore BACK on topic to say that YEAH the GT-R is coming because I don't want the G35 or Skyline 350.
