Because he has nothing better to do.
You're right. I can't be enjoying a CX-5D, live traffic, Android auto, etc. and it's reduced me to this.

First world problems. Why don't you just go buy something else and set yourself free?!
If I lived there, I'd care. Just like you don't care that they don't deliver them where I live.
Because my CX5 lost value so fast that I just can't stomach the negative equity. Also, it's great basic transportation that has been reliable, and that can't really be overlooked. I am hoping to pay it off while it's in good mechanical stead, and use it as my beater for when bad weather comes along, etc. I miss owning a beater/fun-car combo.
Oh, I was getting the impression that you loathed the damn thing. Great, reliable-- sounds good. Is it a 2015?
Yes, it's a 2015.
You know instant depreciation is the name of the new car game, right? ALL cars, the instant you drive them off the lot. Can't blame Mazda for that.
Right, but 50% value in less than 2 years? C'mon, none of my other vehicles have plummeted like that.
No use hating the car [or the company] because the secondary market for it isn't as rich as you'd like. It doesn't do any good, and makes you unhappy. You're right to hold onto it, and eventually you'll get your money's worth out of it and have your fun/beater. Now it can just be fun, if you let it. Hope your good luck with it will continue.
(2cents)
No, I certainly don't loath it at all. It's just that my only reason to like it, is that I don't have a distinct reason not to like it. It's boring. It's slow. It looks "meh". It has late 90's features at best.
But it's reliable, cheap to maintain, and the AWD system is okay.
You really were duped when you bought your car. How could you have been so careless to buy such a slow car with bland looks and knowing full well after doing the homework I know you will have done it would depreciate at a rate worse than anything else on the market. You’re even the worst salesman’s dream.
Toyota got 2.59 Billion from tax rebate. Murica phirst.
Yeah, the tax thing never works out. In South Carolina, which gave Boeing a huge tax break and invested in all this infrastructure, someone did the math and if Boeing continued to employee all the people and the economic impact of those people continue at the current growth (with 3% extra thrown in) the state would break even in about 230 years.

Maybe the '17 redesign was what did it. I dunno.
I live in Bath, ME, and Bath Iron Works (the naval shipyard) is constantly whining for more and more tax breaks, despite the fact the parent company (general dynamics) continues to rake in billions. I'm sick of subsidizing them, while our city's infrastructure crumbles, not only from general use, but from the thousands of their workers who commute into our city daily.

Nothing wrong with 17 redesign
How dare you try to get this thread back on topic.

I think what he meant was the demand for the 2nd gen killed the demand for used gen 1s.
No doubt it did, but now the market for them has stabilized a bit.
