side molding

so i was considering taking the side molding off of my 00 es, but a few questions before i do...
for those of you who have, do you find that you get damage in that area now that there is no protection (other doors in parking lots)?
whats the easiest way to get them off?
whats that condition of the body under them?

i havn't had any damage on my doors since i took them off of my car. the easiest way to get them of is to use some kind of flat plastic ( credit car ) and get under one side of the molding and then just pull and the will come off. then you might want to get some goo b gone or and eraser wheel to get the adhesive off if it was like mine (02 es)!! then you might need to buff the doors if you don't take car of you paint.

thanks for the response.. would it work out better if i used a heat gun on it first, or would just peeling with a card be enough?

Heat will make removing any adhesive easier, including that god awful 2 sided tape mazda used.
