Si or tC? Quick opinions

How are the TC and SI in the same price range? the SI is more expensive....

Well, for one you can put all kinds of crap in tC, neon lights, rims, this and that, blah blah blah...

Si :) I've driven both, and the Si is much better IMHO. The shifter works beautifully, btw.. perfect placement. Also, I believe they're both hatchbacks if i remember correctly. With the Tc, you're getting a budget camry with 2 doors and rims. The Si you're getting the best Civic sold stateside...

it's your pick.

Really? Perfect placement? I tried the Si before but for some reason I don't like where the shifter is... maybe I'm just not use to it yet...

tC, but only if you do this to it!

The new Civic is coming...by all accounts, better then the current Si. I think they look pretty similar. If I were you, unless I really liked the current breadvan styling of the Civic Si, I would wait for the new one.

My only problem with the tC is that you spend an extra 3 grand(I'm guessing--Ican't find a price) for the supercharger and you only get 200hp...and with a supercharger its not cheap/easy to upgrade/modify for more power.

For me, it is. If you sit right in the seats and don't ghetto-lean while driving, the shifter is right where your hand should be. I thought it was odd at first, but I got used to it in 2.5 seconds and it became more comfortable to use than the Pro's shifter...

It's a love or hate thing, I guess. I personally love it.

wait for the 2006 SI. Granted, payments will be more. Otherwise I'd just go with the better dealer because I don't really care for either.

After driving the tC again last night. that thing is a boat!

Nice car but you need to take some motion sickness medication before you turn it.

You'd almost may as well wait a bit.

Toyota/Scion isn't offering any incentives on any Scion and their (at least in Chicago) interest rates are ass (5.4% with excellent credit - WTF).

I'm digging the tC, but the new Si should be worthwhile.

Besides, your mind and heart are set on being back in a Honda. What about an RSX?

Or you could look at an upgraded Civic Si....the Acura RSX. I've considered the tC and Si as well and liked the RSX better in a lot of ways....and cost is about the same. If I got one I'd have to have the type-S though, 200 hp and more upgrades but $3k more.

/\ $3k for "factory" performance in that category is fair (esp. for an Acura/Honda)....

My new vote: RSX :D

Looks like I might be driving a black 05 Si home today, we'll see. It's hard to find black ones but the dealership is getting one for me. Papers are pretty much signed.

The Si is alot more confident than the tC. The tC is a great car though and I'd recommend it highly to anyone . The car just feels too heavy to me, and the shifting is kinda sloppy...not in a bad way, it's just how Toyotas feel.

Well, the Si im about to buy was $18,000, true it's a bit high but it's what I want to do. The RSX-S is about $24,000 when all is said and done. That's a big difference...and the wonderful negative equity that my ******* Mazda is giving me. Mazda resale sucks. I've driven a few Type-S's and I always go in waiting to me impressed and I'm not. For the money id rather buy a tC. Wow, i can't believe I said that....
