shifting question

I agree with mazkid, i put alot of time and money on my car and rarly get it to the track. And even when i do its never the same as street racing. I drive the way i want to drive. Mabe if they opened up a few more tracks i wouldnt street race as much but i would still drive fast no matter what. I didnt spend 10grand on a built motor to shift at 3000rpm and drive speed limit. I did it to push my car to 8-9000rpm and have the sti's and evo 7's sayin s*** was that a protege.

but all in all.. Just be carefull guys...we cant really stop you .. but make sure to be safe put on a condo... i mean seat belt...and do it where no ones there i know that youknow better.

why put the money into your cars if your not going to use it, i'm sorry but not all of us have tracks near to where we live, street racing off streetlights isnt even all that dangerous if you dont go past 15-20mph over the speed limit, like anything though, you pay to play. You do have a higher chances of getting a ticket or accident but if you were just planning on racing at the track then you should just have a real race car that you tow there that isnt street legal at all. No cats, boosted to hell, and couldnt past smog if you payed the guy 5 grand. Thats my take on it. And umm if you tools ever want to run i'll grab my real race car, Daddy's turbo porche.

that is true too.. but for me, when i work on my car i just do it for fun...lets say something to relieve everysingle days stress....i do admit i get the rush of flooring the pedal sometimes but ...everytime i looked at my Gas i tend to cry ...hehehhe.. but yeah..IMO its safe if its in the middle of the night but if its a busy street then all i can say is be carefull.. thats why we have a every friday meet somewhere open where not much people pass by just to be safe..also side note i do whine about gas mileage and yet i drive a boosted car ...hehehehhe sad..o well.... be saf e people !!

I HAVE to have a seat belt on or I feel odd. I've always been this way too, which is a great thing. Most of my friends don't wear em, or only do when there's cops around. I wear it all the time, and in my brother's MX-6 and my friend's Integra, the left rear seatbelt is missing. Just last night heading to the street races(we don't race, or we only race people we know just for kicks, like racing my friend's mom's winstar against another friend's Ion Redline(and the Ion lost twice until another friend took the wheel and drove it properly...). Mostly we just watch the idiots have thier fun and almost wreck into eachother every few minutes) I got in the back of my friend's integra on the right side, then we had to pick up another guy and he wanted my spot. I told him no and that that side of the car doesn't have a seat belt and that I can't ride in the car without a seat belt. Luckily he understood and my friend knows how I am.

I also keep good posture while driving, seat in the upright position for proper control and visibility. I try to do things as safe as possible and so far I haven't had any close calls or other problems.

I'm as careful as I can be, and I think the only reason others are not is because they don't take as much pride in thier car(s) as I do. A wreck for me, if I'm not hurt, would kill me mentally. When I got hit in our 323 I was down for days, and that wasn't even my car and was a sheer accident, not speeding or anything. Destroying my own car while driving fast is something I don't ever want to go through.

thats why i love the escorts. automatic seat belts... hehe plus me too i just love the feeling of getting strapped down my seat with the harness... hehehehehe
