I think I am looking into getting a shift light...and I am wondering if anyone has any experiance with differnt types/kinds and could give some input, also do u think it is worth it to buy a tach with a shift light...I read that our tach's are inaccurate at rpms higher than 5, so this could be beneficial, anywayz....any input will be helpful, thanx

Yeah, our tachs and speedo's are inaccurate at higher speeds. I have confirmed this with the Nology PDA Dyno. Autometer has a variety of shift lights that will hit you right in the face so there is no mistake thay you should shift immediately! LOL!

get a Monster Tach with a shiftlight...personally, i wouldnt like a little bastard light telling me what to do, but thats just me

shift lites are great, cause you can keep your eyes on the road.

i'd suggest getting a tach with the lite built in, cause it's cheaper overall. i've got the small autometer tach, and paid extra for the separate shift lite and control box. ridicuously expensive by the time i finished. here's a pic:

also check if the tach can be easily hooked up to the dashboard dimmer switch, cause the autometer tach can't.

the new gtech pro includes a shift lite that works well.

EDIT: bit off topic, but just in case anyone has an autometer tach, and wants to hook it into the dimmer switch, it's not easy, but it can be done. click here, then "technical", then "autometer tach":
