has anyone shaved their side markers on their p5.....im talkin the bigger non-blinking ones toward the front of the car, not the little blinkers below the mirror .....if so got pics, and how much did it cost

you're better off just replacing them with clear ones with amber colored bulbs

it's cheaper and not illegal like just removing them would be.

Depending on the color of your car you could always go for blacking them out with Niteshades. I did that w/mine and I love it. 'Course my car is black so it bleeeeends. ;)

yeah most of the ones that I remember seeing/hearing of were done at the time of another job (i.e. bumper replacement). I know that to get a bumper's paint blended should take about $200-250 at a good shop. I dunno about the actual bodywork.

I would seriously consider clownphish's suggestion. I Niteshaded my lights and it takes all of $7.50 and 30 minutes... it looks good with any color they made the P5 in and is even better with tinted windows :D

nightshades is a spray-on right? do you just spray directly over the yellow lenses?

Exactly. You just pop them out, unplug the socket, spray, let dry then pop back in!

yeah just be absolutely certain that they're clean and then use a rubbing alcohol to get everything off. let em sit for about 10-15 minutes then spray according to the directions and pop em right back on and you're good to go :D

Anyone know if you can get this stuff at Autozone or something? Or do I have to order that stuff online.

Snacks - I ordered it from my local speed shop from their parts catalog. It was around $8 and they had it within a couple days. I was able to do my side markers and tails with one can.

does anyone have a picture of this nightshade product on a blue P5?

It's a simple photochop if you post a decent pic of your car.

spray on

VHT Nightshades Taillight Tint. And yeah, you just spray it on over the lens. It does go on with a cloudy appearance if you haven't prepped and is more translucent than transparent, which will cut down on light output. I've heard that the nightshades stuff can be prone to chipping but not certain if a thorough cleaning/very fine sanding prior to using would decrease chipping likelihood.

There's also Trimbrite Spray Window Film and another product by Testor's. Not certain of the quality/worth of these but I've seen anecdotal evidence that the Trimbrite is more transparent than Nightshades and lets more light through. YMMV.

Just get the MP3 bumper, or a body kit to get rid of the holes... It's cheaper to get the new bumper than trying to have a shop fil lthe holes for you.

Cool...thanks for the info! (cool)

Yeah, the bumper lights are just not attractive. At least the Niteshades makes them a little more tolerable, IMO. :p

i have the clear side markers on right now ...i'm gonna use the niteshades on my tail lights....not sure if i want to spray the side markers....def too expensive to have them shaved ...my cars white so ithink the niteshades would look pretty good....good contrast

It does look hot on white. I think ghost did his. Don't quote me on that, and he may have clears now, but I think I remember it being his car. (shrug)
