Sorry, also for digging this post out. I found the pictures and texts to be very useful.
Did the same thing to my roof, backing out of the garage. The roof was quite bad and the metal base of shark fin amazingly became not flat! ABS of fin also split at pointed end. Roof has been made best it can be by a 'panel' chap. Fin does not fit totally flat - black silicon may get squeezed into the gap later. Does not leak however - rubber seal on new one appears good around the hole.
My issue is that after I disconnected the antenna, the SatNav no longer works. I just get the Compass display on the screen with an advert to get the official Mazda system installed as an extra. Reconnecting both the old and new shark fins still shows the Compass.
Have tried all sorts - resets etc, to no avail. The electronics in the shark fin are what you'd expect for an antenna amplifier and its 12V supply is present when the ignition is on. There are no indications that this could be coded to the car. The SD card is - it has the VIN of the car on it. The SD card appears to be OK - according to the Mazda toolbox. Removing SD card and re-inserting does nothing.
Did anyone else have this issue and how did you get SatNav to function again? Or in your region did the car not have SatNav - just Radio which works ok on my car after antenna is reconnected.
Frustrating.
