He knew what he was getting into, though...he knkew there'd be people like you. His final letter was well thought out and sets his position well. That's probably because he'd had time to let his thoughts simmer into something more coherent than just, "Hey...I'm pissed at JL because." Oh well...all told, people now know. I look at it like this, I did what I thought was right. So did byohndspeed. He reported it to JL becuase he thinks its worng for consumers to know about accomidations. I simply disagree. He made the same action I did, I can't blaim him for that in any way.
As for knowing JL, I put this on carsound aswell and you can bet Manville Smith Saw it as did the other JL employees on that site. I was not asked to leave at all. I chose to becuase the mentality of people like you in the industry frankly discousts me. You all feel that this information is to volitile to even speak of. As if most consumer 1, don't already know about them or 2, give a damn. I feel its that close minded attidute toward information that has killed the industry. There were a few others here that reported this aswell.

It is just you and basicly those on a consumer level that appriciate honesty. The car audio industry does not. They don't want you to know s***. This allows them to basicly force feed you any horse s*** they come up with. The best part is 90% of those in the industry are ******* retards that believe the BS themselves. These people honestly think even SPEAKING about accomidations lowers their potential sales. If anything, with mentioning accomidations you can actualy tell people where their internet bought products are coming from. Thats right. MANY employees get JL and other products on accomidations and then sell them for a profit to online vendors. Y'kno 1st, I'm actually kind of happy for you in a way, sure it sucks to be out of the industry, but damn, seems like you're just workin' for the man... It's just downright juvinile that people would rally around so animately to try to take any actions against you for something perhaps mildly inflamitory, but ultimately trivial.
I for one am very familiar with employee purchase type programs as I've been allowed in on some at the local shop that I've sort of been half-adopted by, and regaurdless, it's prettymuch common knowledge. It's just how any industry goes. Of course you want salesmen and ppl with cool toys to have your stuff to be showingoff and talking about. What i'm getting at here is that knowing that YOU could get JL products for 70% off in no way discouraged me from thouroughly considering their products as an option, and infact I nearly walked out of a shop last weekend with a set of VR650 components that I wouldn't have even bothered trying to find before all of your praise and reccomendations. Hell, I just helped a friend make a box to install a 8w3v2 that I reccomended he purchase in his truck. (impressive little driver BTW) Seeing as they're carried by a shop other than my preferred one, I'd have never even considered JL prior to being a member of this forum and hearing all of your praise.

It's part of the industry...even in engineering. Reps want you to buy their product, so here's free samples, free lunch, and, "how about a trip to this seminar in Cancun?"

I should get 15% off the origianal price on clearance items, should I? This is where-in the problem occurs and where I would take issue with JL's practices. B-stock is sold at a deep discount...well then if you're gonna give it out on accomodations take some off of that price, no off the price of A-stock. Or offer A-stock at a slightly higher price for accomodations. This way, you're still taking care of the industry that supports you, and everyone can be happy.
