Security System install

I would imagine a lot of you have security systems installed in your rides. After searching through the forums, I haven't found too much info on installing one. Is this something best left to professionals? I have done a bunch of my own stereo stuff on my current car as well as others, and I was guessing installing a security system shouldn't be too hard. I have been looking at a couple from Viper.

Recently my car was broken into...window busted and stereo stolen. I figure I should probably get secure. I would like to install my own, but having never done this before, is it even something I should attempt or no?

If there is already a topic posted on this somewhere...plz feel free to send me that way.

maybe this was the wrong forum to post into for the original message...either way, i went ahead and had a python 900 installed, so far i'm pretty happy with it (cool)

did ur car not come with a factory alarm? I am guessing not.

It also depends on what you are planning on installing? A basic alarm is not hard, keyless will be a different story since you will have to diode Isolate the wire for lock/ unlock. If you are wanting a remote start alarm, get it done professionally since that gets a bit more complicated.

My best bet would be to look at www.the12volt.com they have good info, and the wiring diagram for our cars. Even though I can't find any info on hooking a window module for the sunroof.

First let me know what you are wanting to put in.

oh well dumb I didn't see you were the one that posted that. hahaha sorry.

I just installed a Python 991 and two 530t window modules, plus a 529t for the sunroof, but still trying to figure out the tilt problem.

Glad you like the python, I love python. Used to install them for circuit city for a couple of years.
