Seats

Does anybody else have problems with adjusting the seats to fit them?

I'm 6 feet tall and either the seat is too close or too far away or the lumbar (extreme) support is bruising my kidneys or the seat is tilted so far back I feel like I'm "cruising"...

I've been playing with it for 3 weeks now and I still can't get it adjusted the way I like.

My wife has a 99 Protege LX and the seats are firmer with less lumbar support. It takes like 2 seconds for me to adjust them and be comfortable.

Any suggestions?

I agree, and I'm right at "average build" 5' 9 1/2", 165 lb. Try putting the bottom seat cushion at a medium setting in front and low in back, then adjust the seatback. Coming off VW's with their infinitely (knob) adjustable rake, I'm finding my best fit seems to be between the notches of the seatback rake. I'm going to unbolt the seat in front and see if I can washer/spacer it up maybe 1/8" to 3/16" without compromising safety - that should about do it.

Other than that, I dunno - would LOVE a set of Sparco Torinos or Recaros (had those in my GTI and GLI, there are none better), but I don't have the extra grand or so rolling around and if I did there are higher things on the list. Ah well, the seats aren't TOO bad.

100% agree...I am 6'1" and I hated my P5 seats.....could never really feel 100% comfortable..... that is part of the reason I went with aftermarket seats.

I am 6'2 and I fit fine. I keep my seat as low as possible in all cars that I drive and the seat all the way back because of my long legs and thats the most comfortable position for me.
