"Scrape" Went the Bottom of the Door...

("Scrape" went the bottom of the door...)
...when I accidently opened the passenger side door into a very high sidewalk. I felt underneath the corner of the door - and it's definitely abraded - scraped - whatever word you'd like.

I'd don't like the idea of no paint or possibly no primer there as the winter weather begins to set in and salt ends up on the road. I've had a few thoughts about it:
1) After cleaning & drying the area - use touch-up paint to cover the "wound."
2) Bring it to my body shop guy and ask his advice.
3) Take a deep breath and ignore it - maybe it will corrode in a few years - maybe it won't.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
Mark

i would think numero uno should do it, and then keep an eye on it. maybe touch it up once a year.

i feel your pain, i've done it.

happened to me too. driver side door. did touch up paint on it followed by the touch up clear coat. Rough to the touch but still same color as the main phantom blue.

It's Tempting to use one of those rubberized 'door edge rubber' but then dirt or salt can reside in those add-ons.

Thanks for your input guys - I agree - seems like the way to go. Anyone know how long it takes for the touch-up paint to dry fully. In other words - how soon after I paint it can I wash the car?

Thanks again.
