Sayonara MS3 :(

Well, I paid cash, and I'm not going to put up with the 1-2 months of going back and forth with a body shop trying-and likely failing-to get the car right. Life's too short. If I lose a few grand it will be a small price to pay to avoid the aggravation.

I apologize to all for venting and starting this thread in this forum; that's not its purpose. I really did enjoy reading and posting here while I had the car, but it will soon be gone and so am I.
Enjoy your MS3s. I know I did.

Just find another bodyshop, one that knows its ass from a body hammer, unlike the one you apparently took you BMW to. There's no reason this should be months or even a week of back and forth.

Ask around, find a good shop, make an appointment, get it fixed. You'll spend less getting it fixed right at a good shop than you'd lose selling it off this fast.

If you don't like the car, get rid of it, I guess, but don't chuck it, and THOUSANDS of dollars over a dent! Baby....Bathwater... etc.

Sorry for sounding so harsh but that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I'm sure another bodyshop would fix it just fine. Are you going to sell it with a dent in it? If not then you still have to go through the hassle of dealing with the bodyshop. You might as well keep it.

ahh you wouldnt have to take apart the whole car ya can get at it from the access pannel pry it out fill it and paint the quarter blend the door and bumper at the max i guess ya just need to find a friend in the auto repair business i can understand that ya dont wanna mess wit it but if you explain how you want it done im sure ya could find a shop to do it did you ever stop to think ur being a bit too picky its just a car

Well seing as losing a few thousand dollars is no big deal for you so you don't have to be "inconencienced".... mind paying some of my bills???(peep)

+1

That does sound really dumb. I'm sorry for what happened to the car, but if you swap cars just because of dents, you'd be going through cars very quickly. My MS3 got rear-ended within 2 months of ownership, and I have seen other MS3s on this forum suffer collision damage as well. Do you think any of those people got rid of their cars?

Unless you have some alien technology bubble shield over your car, your car will suffer some kind of damage during its lifetime whether it be other drivers, inconsiderate door dingers in the lots, retarded animals (deers, geese, etc.) on the road, kids in the neighborhood playing baseball, the list goes on endless. Insurance and body repair shops exist for a good reason, and believe it or not, some of them do a very fine job. Just my two cents. *^_^*

did you really spray paint your wheels black and red??

but anyways back on topic, why would you sell it because of a dent, you'll end up losing more by selling it rather than fixing the dent and keeping it. do you have a pic of this dent?

wow, im sorry but you're completely irratiotional...no wonder this isnt your first "new" car being that you're 50 years old...sounds like you're not very wise w/ your money...

While I agree that selling his car is irrational, I don't think we need to resort to personal attacks. For all you you he's VERY wise with his money and realized that buying a "BRAND NEW CAR" is one of the WORST financial investments you can make due to depreciation and upkeep. I don't plan on buying a brand new car until I retire. Used all the way for me. Let someone else who bought a brand new car and couldn't afford it take the depreciation hit.

So while I agree with saying its irrational, there is no correllation between that and the MS3 being his first "new" car.

yeah im a bit incorrect on that one but still, this has to be the stupidest s*** I've ever heard...
