my dad has an 82 corvette...and seriously i think they are very over rated...also, they are all ugly as hell...

I think he's talking more about the new Z06 which is an incredible sports car......anything from '82 is pretty much gonna be a POS.

the listing says 5 spoke wheels but that has 6 spoke.

and it says FORGED wheels which would be an impressive attention to detail

seriously, i think the new ones are even worse...although im not a big fan of sports cars...so maybe thats why...i like the older corvettes...A TON more than the old ones, and i don't like the old ones...plus...if you think its a piece of s***...its got 350 horsepower and in tip top condition...in no way do i think its a piece of s***, but i don't think its fun to drive in the slightest...BORING!

Cool, I want one!! Maybe I won't have the dimming headlight problem any more! It looks cool and everyone I know who own or has owned a Saturn have good things to say about it. I didn't care for the cheap plastic look of the interior when the first came out, but who knows maybe this is it. I don't really want one, but it's not bad looking considering all you get for stock. That and thanks to the SRT4, maybe these small compact sport cars will all come down in price and give you more zing for your bling! Gotta like that, whether it be Mazda or any one else. :D

I have had 3 grand am's since I've been driving. Started with an 87, went to a 91 then a 96 SE. I finally traded in my 96 for my MP3 which I have now.

My 87 I roled within 6 months of having it so I really didn't get to break it in very good. In my 91 i had to replace the Timing gears twice. Talk about a b**** changing those things. And my 96 really didn't have any problems. My power door locks failed after about a year and a half. And for it being a 4 cyl 2.4L, It was pretty impressive.

When they switched to the new body styles in 99 I loved the look of the GT's. I really looked into getting one in 2001 but GT's only come in 6 cyl. And the 6 cyl only comes in an Auto Tranny. So I abandoned the grand am. Looked for more funner cars to drive. And now I'm driving an MP3.

As for that car, out of the 3 GM compacts (Cavalier, Sun Fire, and the SC2/Ion) I would have to take the Ion. I like the looks of it better than the others, and that quad-coup thing can come in handy. It's not a bad looking car but I'd have to see the interior. I too agree that the old interiors of the saturns were about as cheap as you could get so they better have come a loooong way for me to buy one.

My thoughts exactly.......all this competition can only be good for us as the consumers.

So there will be a limited edition Saturn ION drag version putting out 1000hp at the wheels! :D I would have to see interior front and rear pics to say if I truly like, but the side shot is nice a must say. People here are quick to bash it because it's not Mazda, but you got to stop, look, listen, and then decide. Who is going to buy one first? I have no money!

Actually the rear doors have been on the saturn for quite a while (remember those stupid tuba commercials?) Some people have even gone as far to say as that mazda stole the idea for the RX8.
hmmm

Yeah well some people need to get their heads out of their asses. If we wanted to get technical then I guess we could say that Ford came up with the idea. They were called "suicide doors" back in the 30's. Only you didnt have to open your front door just to open the back door. And who knows, maybe someone else in Europe came up with the idea.

Actually, the Grand Yam...er, Am, is available in the V6 with manual - I test drove one.

The problem with all GM vehicles is that the interiors are all from the same bad parts bin. The stuff is all cheap plastic & looks like it belongs in a rental car (even the Corvette).

Well not according to this page it's not.

http://www.pontiac.com/grandam/specs_engines.jsp

Read the transmission - 5 speed manual "Not available with the 3.4 L V6

So if you were driving a Grand Am GT it did't have a V6 in it. I know they would put in the 4 banger with a manual transmission in the previous version (95-98 i think), but I don't think you can oder it with the newer version.

Also the Ecotec is a 2.2L engine. The engine in this Red line is a Supercharged 2.0L. I believe it is the previous motors that were used in the SC2's. Just my guess though.

NOt a fan of the Redline, but you have appriciate that the added power competition should help push the next special edition "3" to have alot more juice then the MSP. COmpetition is good (thumb)

Ha! Doesn't matter. I would walk before I drove GM. Period! Oh! And; I sure as well wouldn't drive a Pontiac; let alone be seen in one. (puke)

Hey! It's all personal choice.(k)

Whatever my WS6 will run circles around the MSP.
But I still love my MP3.

Is that the 30th anniversary edition? Beautiful Car none the less. I love styling of the latest trans ams. Very nice car. Oh and might I add, at the Auto X i went to yesterday, A trans am had a time of 37.4??, The fastest time of the day was set by an S2000 at 36.9??. What was my time? I ran a 44.515 as my fastest. It was definately a high HP course, as there were many straights. But I am still learning and should have had better times. The best in my class were getting low 41's, I ran 5 times, 4 of them were 44.xxx the other well, I stayed on it a little too long in the first straight and ended up sideways almost to a complete stop in the turn. It was my funnest run though. Drifting sideways into a turn is pretty darn cool. :).
