Hey jonboy, have you made it to P1 yet? I have talked to Bob there a few times and I was thinking about being the local gunea pig, but with the baby almost here, i dont know if i can swing the money yet and i was also wanting to get the pros/cons on the mpi vs the safcII?

i went with the mpi tuner, but there is a shop here in mooresville doing a safc2 on a msp as we talk.

IS that guy on here? I am curious of how much the safc2 helps, Also who are you getting to put your mpi on? I am goin by P1 tommorrow and talk to him to see what he can do with the price of either with an install and tune

what is the mpi? another type of air-fuel controller I assume. Who makes it and how much?
The MPI Tuner system will allow you to control both fuel and timing. It comes with software, user guide and cable. You will have full control of the system. You can tune it yourself. We send it with a start up file to get you going. It is the only system that will let you tune and hold the map in both open and closed loop. With our system you do not have to reset your PCM every few days like some other system. Duel maps, data logging, boost retard and for great support by me and the other 20 or so people on this forum running them.

The cost is $795.00.

Thanks again

Im picking up an SAFCII this friday. Will be ordering the o2 modifier shortly, and then getting it all installed hopefully within 2 weeks.
I'm gonna be the guneia pig for the rest of you all, so wish me luck.
If anyone has questions, advice, info, feel free to post up.

I'll be updating the thread with the latest info, and tuning information.

:)
I'M TRYING TO INSTALL THE SAME S-AFCII IN MY 02 MP5 BUT CAN'T SEEM TO FIND OUT THE PIN POINTS, NEED YOUR HELP FROM YOUR EXPERIENCE MAYBE SOME PICS IF POSSIBLE

looks like the SAFC II wont work with our cars, except you go on and do some mods but can't just plug it in. Based on the research i've made our ecu overwrites the SAFC II signal.

if somebody have something new it will be great to know.

Nope, The SAFC and SAFC II are not compatible.. MPI or E-Manage...

Yes that is why with the MPI Tuner we have a built in O2 clamp and we also kick the ECU into open loop type mode under boost. This way you do not have these problems
