RX-8 Seats in 6 S

:
Mazda 6 S
Has anyone tried to put RX-8 seats in a 6? I have 77k on mine and the leather seats are worn bad. Looking for some other options. Preferably something that will bolt right in.

you can also use any of the Ford family of seats as well.. lincoln, mercury, ford, theyll bolt right in.. I highly doubt the RX8 seat will bolt in without mods? but, you can buy brackets at Wedge engineering..

subbing for further info cause im defin interested in changing out my seats. i was thinking some red sparcos :D

i wanna swap seats as well. the problem with the drivers side is the sensor for the steering wheel air bag, and there's and airbag in the seat itself.

also the passenger side seat has a weight sensor in it to detect rather or not the pass. side air bag is active. if you wanted to remove the seat, when you reinstall it you have to recalibrate this sensor to 90lbs. this is something i believe the dealership has to do.

i read this in the workshop manual. though i dont have a solution to how to get around these obstacles. thought i'd add what i know ;)

I thought 6club was no longer a site..? But thanks for the input. I didnt even think about Ford seats, but then again...what Fords have decent seats? lol.

just throwin out there, the new taurus SHO maybe? doubt youd be able to find any of them in junkyards though

I would love the option of aftermarket seats in my car... I like the way mine look but I wish they were more like the rx 8's recaros

I sat in an RX-8 for the first time about a month ago and I was blown away by the bolstering. I don't think I'd want that for my everyday car, but WOW were they supportive and must be awesome for really aggressive driving!

i've actually autox'd a rx-8 a few times and though they are better than the speed they're still not supportive enough. the bolsters are tall but the seat back is a lil narrow for my build. and i'm not a big fella at six feet two hundred.

my friend who own'd the car however is five seven and fits right in between those big ol bolsters. i kinda felt like i was on top of them. as opposed to in between them.

so if your about my size you may just wanna look after market. most companys give you dimensions on their websites. you could measure the seat you have for comparisons sake.

i like the corbeau's. their fairly priced and the make a bracket that fits our car. there is still the issue of getting around the safety system yet allowing it to function properly.
