Rotora looking for a Mazda 6 to sponsor!!!!!!

Great find. I don't show my car, if they were looking for someone who tracks and autoxs their car I'd be jumping for it.

Done:) Although there are few showcars there, maybe someone knows someone or along those lines. Thanks!

thanks

thanks for the post on Mazda6Club by the way. i emailed em the day i saw it and they hooked me up. Thanks again for the info!! though the kit will sell for a lot ($2100) it looks pretty sweet! and all they want is me to be at a couple Auto X's this year...no prob!

Bigger brakes don't do anything for a car without the tires to back them up. Tires stop the car, brakes stop the wheels.

Aka if you get 13 inch rotors, 4 piston calipers, and run them on stock wheels, you probably won't reduce your braking distance at all.

You'd have a much greater reduction in stopping distance if you kept the stock rotors and calipers, and slapped on some Toyo RA-1's instead :).

I'm not saying big brake kits are bad...I'm just pointing out you better have some really good tires before investing in them. (Like Falken Azenis Sports, Kumo MX's, or Toyo T1-S's...or RA-1's if your rich)

yes, the tires stop the car, but there's also a possibility of better brake feel, fade resistance, clamping force, etc.

If you put track pads on the 6, there isn't any brake fade as is. And the only way you would get brake fade on the 6, is if you were driving on the track. (Thats where you notice it). Street driving and Autox'in isn't even to reveal any noticable amount of brake fade...even though if you did get some, some carbotech bobcat's would eliminate it for about 160-170 bucks.

Best upgrade route for our car isn't aftermarket, its mazda market. The Mazda3 and 8 have larger rotors then the 6. :)

The SVT Cobra also has larger rotors, and a company is working on a bracket to allow us to "borrow" theirs. Much MUCH more cost effective solutions...

Though I do definitely agree that multi-piston calipers do give alot better pedal feel :).

Glad it worked out well for you. $2100 for negligable changes though sounds a bit.. iffy to me. This kit would also knock me out of STS so quick you'd think I was in a shifter kart=p

I was just at the track last weekend. Stock rotors with Carbotech Panther XP9s and Superblue. You'll be HARD pressed to convince me that $2100 is a worthwhile upgrade. I had more than adequate stopping power going down both straights at ViR. Now I need less understeer and stiffer shocks...=/

my feelings exactly, don't know how many members are going to pay that much $ for the upgrade, unless they are show cars. They stop great, but the "bling" really catches the eye. i have a company looking into a brake upgrade that will use the 2 piston floating calipers off the SVT Mustang for our car with 13" rotors. should be interesting.
