Road dirt and slush on rear door

One thing I have noticed with the Mazda 5 is the amount of road trash that builds up on the rear door and window. I have the factory deflector but it does not seem to do much good in keeping trash off the door. We have pretty lousy weather in Upstate NY and the back of the 5 looks like c..p with all the buildup.
Anybody experiency the same problem or have a suggestion?
I wish I could move to So CA but that's out of the question so no jokes please.

that tends to be the case with every hatchback or van i have ever seen.....it's all with the airflow around the back

i live in socal, and the hatch is the first part to get dirty.

its just the shape of the hatches in general taht cause that area to get dirty first.
