Rishie's FITMENT RECIPE

slammed, with ground control coil overs. pretty much figured that I had to roll the rear fenders. theis nittos are only a 1/2 inch wider than what I have on there now and I have yet to mount them. im sure they will shrink up some too. now they are 8" from bead to bead and i will be mounting them on a 7" rim. just wondering if someone had done this already. I let you all know tomorrow what my tire fittment issues will be if there is. thanks.(rockon)

Update

it fits with tons of room. next set im going for 245s baby! of course ill have to buy wider rims but when you see these rims youll agree (nasty free j yard rims). droped my car another 5/8" too(2thumbs)

I just need a double check on this set-up

17.7=size
5x114.3=lug patten
42=offset
73.1=bore
205/40/17=tire size

dropped 2inchs all around on sprint springs. Will it work with no problems?

heres what im getting.

on Sedan....I've got my SA-70 @ 17X7.5 , offset 42 still rubbing against my feeder...looks like i need to do the body roll soon...

Hey guys im looking at getting a set of Drag DR17 17x7 rims with a 40 offset. I need to know if these will work on my 02 p5 and what size tire I need to run.

All Fitments below pertain to the 3rd Gen Protege 5x114.3 Boltpattern. Try plugging your numbers into this formula and you will be able to determine what tire size you can run, if any.

I've simply added the Sedan one in simple quantitative terms. hehe. It was more of a word problem in my original post. HOpe that helps.

Rather than answering each question one by one I TRULY feel it's more efficient and accurate to provide this WONDERFULLY SIMPLE MATRIX.

Here we go:

REAL IMPORTANT BASIC PIECE OF INFO

1. If the OFFSET is more POSITIVE the wheel will be more SUNKEN.
2. If the OFFSET is more NEGATIVE the wheel will STICK OUT more.

Mazda 3RD Protege Sedan fitment guide

215/40/17; 215/35/18
-------------
7.0" +42 and higher
7.5" +45 and higher

205/40/17, or 205/35/18
----------------------------
7.0" +40 and higher; Barely making it in the rear.
7.5" +45 or higher

Mazda Protege5 fitment guide

215/40/17; 215/35/18
-------------------------
7.0" +45 and higher
7.5" +48 and higher

205/40/17, or 205/35/18
--------------------------
7.0" +42 and higher; Barely making it
7.5" +48 or higher, the +45 still worries me with this width on a 205.

FITMENTS ABOVE ARE ALL BASED ON THESE CARS WITH LOWERING SPRINGS. Forgot to mention that, please forgive the caps.

Regardless if the car is lowered or not, if you put 5 "PHAT" friends in the car it will be DROPPED. hahahahaha. You always want to compensate for this or just normal suspension travel.

well... i think ill just put sum 205 45 16 ecsta spt on stock mags.. ! that way im shur to not rub.. after all i like the stock 2003 p5 mags they dont look bad at all but still it would b nice to confirm for the +45 offset... mayb it wont b useful for me but im shur that it is for sumone out there ! :)

That will likely depend on the type of tire. Might not rub if the section width is narrow enough, but it's totally in the gray area.

if i wasnt dropped ill go with +45.. but its not the case.. im droped with Tein S.tech which is 1,77 front and 1,5 back .....
