I have sent you multiple emails requesting autoexe parts and other important questions, and still no returns. Anyway here are my questions, will 18 inch rims with 8 inch width fit on my MP3? What kind of offset will i need? Also I was thinking about side skirts and i was debating between the mint blue side skirt and the wings west side skirt, which one will give my car a lower appearance? Also i need to order an autoexe grill pretty soon, as my spring break is coming up and that is when i am putting 2 grand worth of parts on, and i wanna get that grill with part of the 2 grand. Anyway enough of me going on and on, i hope that you can reply to this as soon as possible.

Thanks,

Evan

Rishie has been busy lately. He definitely has your back, and will get back to you. Thanks for the patience, and understanding for a fellow member.

and as for your 18's X 8? if you are going to be rolling your fenders they MIGHT clear....otherwise....not gonna make it....they will rub.

Remember that most cars with 18x8 wheels also have a widebody kit. Rally cars, etc, etc are all 2-4" wider than the street version they are based on.

I hate to be a jackass, but what exactly does rolling your fenders mean? I see people say it all the time and I never knew..How much does this process involve?

I too have emailed Rishie and Sean to get some price quotes and I have yet to hear anything, I have been trying since before Christmas........If he is busy then that is cool and all, but he should have sent out a short note to the people that have e-mailed him and are willing to do buisness.
Rishie, WHERE ARE U??? WE NEED U ........

oh yea and a little off the topic but will 96 probe gt rims fit my protege? The reason i ask is because i found a bad ass set of rims for a probe gt but they do not say that they will fit on a Protege. Also how much does it cost to get your fenders rolled because i wanna put these rims on my car but they are 18 x 8's

Kza, you are NOT being a jackass....if you don't know...you don't know...and you learn by asking questions....and this is the exact place to do that very thing....

Rolling your Fenders.....go to your car and look at the LIP of the fender at the wheel opening...you see how the fender rolls under and makes a squared off edge there? the fender actually sticks INTO the wheel well there.....well there is a machine that can be mounted to the hub and it actually takes that lip and rolls it flat up aginst the inside of the fender so that it no longer protrudes into the wheel well, which actually gives tires more clearance if they are right up aginst the edge..

the bad thing about this is that it weakens the fender....that lip is there to stiffin the fender and make it stronger.....

THAT is what rolling your fenders is.

for those of you who are so desperate to get ahold of Rishie....well yes, he IS busy....he has a business he runs.....but you know what? that business has a PHONE IN THE OFFICE! and guess what else? Rishie has posted the shops phone number right here in this board!!!

go to the FITMENT Recipe thread that is stuck to the very top of the Wheel/Tire forum....and go to the bottom of the very first post....his post...and you will find the shops address AND PHONE NUMBER.....spend the dime....CALL HIM

(stash)

How much does it cost to get your fenders rolled? and where would i go to have that done? Also will Probe Gt wheel pattern fit our Protege's?

probe wheels will fit, they are 5X4.5. The problem you may have is the low offset(somewhere around +34 I think), and around here when we roll fenders, we jack the car up enough to fit a baseball bat in between the tire and fender, and then push down to roll the fender up, using the tire as leverage.. I have seen fenders crack, paint chip, and pretty much fubar from rolling, this is why I will not do mine. Good luck. Hope this helps. :)

thanks alot slamprotege5, now the question is HOW MUCH DOES GETTING YOUR FENDERS ROLLED COST????? Sorry, but people keep avoiding that question? Don't mean to get pissed or anything, but i would really really like to know. Because i need to calculate how much all this is going to cost and all that, like i said i am planning on doing a lot to my car over spring break, but i need to know prices.

I am not avoiding the question....but I can't answer it....I have never had it done....and I am sure it would depend on the shop that did it...whether or not they have the proper tools to do the job right...of if while you are not there they take a basepball bat and pry on your fenders.......

check this out...I did a simple search on the net and found the following site that shows you the correct tool to use...and in fact you can BORROW it from Tirerack.com and only have to pay shipping both ways for it....it comes with a video on how to properly roll your fenders..... you can see by the photo's what I was talking about.....the tool mounts to your wheels hub, after removing the wheel...and it adjusts out to the radius of the fender, thenn there is a wheel, which looks to be nylon or something like that...that pushes on the lip and you adjust the presure on it slowly and move it back and forth till the lip is rolled suffeciently for your application....check out the link

ROLLING YOUR FENDERS.

well IF you take it to a shop......and they do it CORRECTLY....that is exactly how they are going to do it.....

Proteges don't have much fender to roll. It will be more like a "pinch". If you feel under the rear wheel well, you will feel the tiny little edge that needs to be rolled out of the way. There is a chance of paint cracking if it is not rolled properly...

Some people have also opted to just cut that part off instead of rolling because there is so little of it.

yep....and as I mentioned in my FIRST post about this....it weakens the fender....even if you roll them....the lip is there as a stiffining member to the fender.....as for the paint cracking....what you are supposed to do is use a hair dryer and heat the paint to soften it so that as you slowly bend the fender in the paint flexes....but you could still crack it...or even worse have it chip off.

and althought there isn't a LOT of room to be gained by doing this....if you are THAT CLOSE to making your wheels fit...YOU may feel its worth it....vs having the hubs on your wheels machined to bring them back under the wheelwells.....
