FOCLMAO who the hell are they kidding?!?! Half of those things I can get done super cheap and quick and they seperate everything like you're getting a deal for them to check your tire pressure after they rotate your tires.....LOL woo!!!! (yupnope)
Lols yeah, I didn't like that check the exterior and interior light, also didn't go for the tire rotation, and break inspection. My break pads look hella beefy still after two years, and well I just had my MSP rims for like 4 months.

Why in the world would you need to flush the transmission at only 30K (particularly a manual)??? I had a dealer tech tell me the first auto fluid should be out at 60K.

Looks like a fleesing of the ignorant...

you think that's bad...the stealership sent me an email notifying me of that my car was due for my 30k...their price $937.38

they want to flush EVERYTHING

Hahahaha, very nice.

They Actually called me, on my cell phone, and told me to come in a few months ago. So I drove down there, thinking it would be some horrible huge recall or something, but it turns out it was for my 15K mile service, which I was already over by 2k miles, and they wanted $250 or so to do it.

I crumpled up the paper and threw it in the 6 they had sitting in the showroom on my way out.

Many dealerships try to add things to the official list. As for Corollas, many of the mid 90's versions (Prisms too) didn't even come with a front sway bar! Handling demons they are not known to be.

i know this is an old thread.. but i've hit the 30k mile.. my stealership wants $490 for the tuneup!

I never took mine in for 30k, screw that!

just do an oil change, check your fluids, stuff like that, should be fine

I had a good laugh at this thread-- thanks for bumping. I just rolled over 30K.... I guess the only thing I'm not sure how to one my own is a coolant flush. I'll figure it out soon... or let my MasterCare guy do it.

And uh PCV valve... I searched... is that just a turbo thing?

When I called the dealership to ask them what was due at the 30k tuneup all they said to do was to flush the coolant, change the tranny fluid, and replace spark plugs. My boyfried and I did it on a Saturday afternoon. I also did an oil change and put an intake on. THe dealership said that as long as I had receipts that I kept my warrnaty. If you can do it yourself it saves you so much money. For all my parts including the intake I paid around $250. With the money I saved I bought new better brake pads.
