Returning my MSP?

I talked to some people tonight who, after much complaining/letter writing/calling, had their dealership buy back their car due to several complications.

Now I'm wondering if I should do the same.. For those of you who've seen the list of issues I've had, please give me your opinion. I'm going to write Mazda anyway, but should I take it further?

Edit: For those of you who have *not* seen my list of problems, please see these threads:
1) Clutch Is Dead
2) Hissing A/C?
3) My 'Speed Is In The Shop
4) Dead Battery on new MSP?
5) Broken I/C Pipe (Contains somewhat full list of problems)

I dont mean to rub it in, but other than the stumble ( I havent had the opportunity to install my Joe P FPR kit yet) and that very small coolant leak, my MSP has been a joy to own and drive. Compared to the troubles I had with my Grand Am several years ago this is nothing to get upset about. But I will admit, if you take all the troubles that people on this forum have had, I think it would average out poorly from a QC point of view. Mazda could've done better, their stock Proteges have a much lower rate of failure. One of the best next to the Corolla I believe. I really feel bad for those who's Speed's have the curse. :(

Would you consider having them just give you a new one, possible without all the problems?

well, its the first year for the turbo, they are still "perfecting" it. i wouldnt ever expect a first year car to be flawless :(

I know a first year model will not be flawless, but having a college ruled piece of paper filled up with one problem per line and some in the margin of the paper is a bit much. Dontcha think?

And this one car is apparently the only one with all of these issues. Granted, as I've said before, most are small nitpicky things, but as stated in another thread, I bought a new car not a list of problems to fix.

In one way I love this car, just because it's my first new car. It has 12k miles of memories. On the other hand, I hate this car because it's been in the shop for 1 1/2 to 2 months total out of the three almost four months I've had it.

DUDE SELL IT BACK Give it back whatever.
It is messed up bad!!!!
Anything you can do to get yourself out of this car will go alonmg way to putting a smile back on your face. After all that is what this car was supposed to do in the first place.

man.. I feel for ya..

I think if you can afford it... bite the bullit and trade it in and move on... the money isn't worth your anguish..

I doubt they'd ever take your car back for a straigh swap.. with 11k on it....

But either way... G'luck to ya..

I'd hate to see you leave the community here, but if I was in your shoes I'd definitely look into getting rid of it. That is assuming you can get something "reasonable" for it without totally losing your ass. Unfortunately the MSP rebate is not helping your trade-in position at all. You should at least inquire about just trading it and some cash in for another MSP -- maybe your stealership will have a little sympathy for you for having to put up with such a turd of a car.

I would definitly look into getting rid of it. A friend of mine lemon lawed his Jetta and it had alot less problems than what you listed, he got all of his money back as well as some for the tinting and such that he put on it.

trade it in.. and buy a 89 honda accord. block it.. an put 20 inch spinners on it. -=)

t3ase check the lemon laws in tex. if you pay anything out of your pocket it would be stupid; unless you buy a more expensive car.

tease i feel for ya...even though i dont own a MSP i follow your problems on the MSP forum...do what you can and give it back...use the money you save and buy a mp5...for the price difference, you can easily get the p5 up to the same speed as a MSP, at 600lb lighter...i know its not the same, but thats why i havent even seen a MSP here because no dealership will carry them...

Well, I don't think it will be as "cut and dry" as "here, here's your money back, thanks for shopping at mazda". I feel a several month long journey beginning if I do choose to get rid of it.

The main two problems they'll use against me are that I have now 13,109miles on it and a dent in the hood, roof & pillar. I do not want to use an insurance claim for the damage, as that'll guarantee a cancellation for me. I dunno WTF I should do.

Don't you have one of those dent rapair guys that can come out to your crip and fix the dent from pushing it from inside? Paintless dent repair or some s*** like that??
