Are they noisy enough to confuse the knock sensor? How about data on the piston to wall clearance?

Don't believe that they are noisy enough to confuse the knock sensor right now. It only happens when the engine is still cold.

I had SRP's in my Drag Civic. They were noisey as HELL!!! The whole motor sounded like a freakin diesel! Ran awesome times though. :D

How long did they last? Also how did YOU break them in?

We ran the SRP's for a half season. We abandoned the project well before they were done with. We were very happy with them though. Since the car was a full race setup. We ran the car at low boost and 5500 rpm shift patterns about 4 times to "loosen" things up as they say. That helped us with base tuning the DFI. After that shake down, we went all out with it. Ran GREAT no problems at all!! :D :D Highly recomend SRP

The SRP's are fine for the boost we plan on running. The just let you run tighter clearances due to the low expansion, and they are still WAY stronger than stock cast pistons.

the srp's should NOT have been that bad. it depends what specs you were using . once you forged your clearances are varied by the manufacter. cant use stock specs. anyway the JE's that pat has have a great reputation and are top of the line. you are GOING TO HAVE A NOISIER MOTOR with them but thats the trade off to a bullet proof bottom end.

Well today, it seams that after 120 Miles my engine is getting a little quieter. I believe my oil pan is slowly leaking. I will have to reseal it.

pat it will get better . they need to be broken in around 8 -10 hours of operation. youll be fine and after warm up they should be fine.:D

I had to reseal mine about 5 times, one thing when you popped off your oil pan you may have bent it, I did that second time I had to take it off.

Yeah, I know I bent a lip or two up slightly. I have some big ass pliers to help me rectify the situation.:D

what kinda gasket is used to hold up the oil pan??? im thinking of taking mines off because it seems to be leaking from the bung so i wanna jb weld it, what kinda gasket or seal is there?? or just silicone... thanks
