I had an appointment earlier tonight for my first service. Besides the regular service I had them look at the following:

1-Replace bad evap solenoid (CEL)
2-Squealing brakes (TSB)
3-Squeaking clutch (TSB)
4-Clunking power windows
5-Creaking HU, HVAC panels
6-Auto-down switch malfunction
7-Excessive rear brake dust
9-Poor wiper performance (TSB)
10-Vibration in clutch pedal

The service guy was pretty cool, but his manager was a real dickhead.
He said there were no tsb's for items 3, 9 and 10 and that they were all working according to factory specs. I don't really mind the bad wipers, but the squeaking clutch is a major pain. I insisted he replaced my rear brake pads with the newer ones and he said mazda hasn't replaced them. He also said that 2 and 7 would be fixed by machining the pads. So he had them put a groove accross the middle and machined the edges down to a 45 degree angle. Not sure if that will actually help. They replaced the auto-down switch/sensor but it didn't fix the problem. They tightened evey bolt in the panel, to fix the clunking noise, but this actually made the problem worse. Now my windows seem to get stuck a little when I bring them down and the clunk noise is actually louder. I was also told that I would have to live with the creaking since it's normal for plastic parts to creak when they come in contact with other plastic parts.

So, 3hrs later, nothing is fixed and some issues are worse (huh). To top all of this, I also spent 2 hours in the bodyshop to have them look at my new bumper. It' falling off and so is the paint :(

Sorry for the long rant, but I needed to blow some steam...

Welcome to the world of Mazda Service, my service guy is a fucktard as well, I always give em attitude now, right before I bought my Mazda 6, I told him you'll get to see me twice as often from now on, going for a second Mazda. He didnt loko to pleased. But I dont care, I started giving them attitude lately, and from now on I am not taking no for an answer, I will make them call Mazda Canada in front of me for a fix or a answer, anything, till I am satisfied

Who you dealing with? I filed a complaint with mazda canada and they advised me to get a second opinion from a different dealership. If they still can't fix my problems they said I'd be entitled to have a mazda rep check out my car.

The one solution for the brake pads is just have them replaced with aftermarket. I have always used Raybestos pads. The leave a very small amount of dust even with heavy use. The factory pads are crap! www.raybestos.com
