Replace sway bar links

Thanks for helping out!

99' Protoge LX. I need to replace the front sway bar links. I've managed to cut the old ones off. Now to put the new one in. Once I put it in, it seems longer. It looks like the strut needs to be raised or the other end lowered. I'm sure someone here has done this job before and know what I'm talking about....please help.
Yes, I did by the right parts.

While we're on it, I should also do the rear...any tips offered would be great.

It may be easiest to place a jack under the control arm on the side you are putting on and slightly raise it. This gives you more room between the strut side and the sway bar. Best of luck to you!
 
I just did this two weeks ago btw with longer links off a ford escape. They work better on a really lowered protege.
 
Thanks a lot, 99prolx, it worked. Now, did you do the rear as well...how did that go? What tips would you please share?
