Removing Badges from rear of Mazdaspeed

one more Q

Is the width between the two holes where the mazdaspedd badge the same width as where the flying M is on the back of the car?

If so, I am thinking of moving the mazdaspeed badge to where the flying M is and just have that on the trunk. I think that would be badass

I'll go measure them tonight, but I want to say that all 3 are the same. I'm not sure how that would look, but it's definately creative. (thumb)

dam, all you used was sticky tape and painted it with touch up paint? Looks good for that.

How exactly did you go about removing the badges? Did you have to heat them up? Is there any like goo holding them on?

Also, can you explain a bit more about how you filled the holes? I dont think i quite understand.

To remove the badges, I used my heat gun & 30lb fishing line. I got all 3 off in like 5 minutes. The part that takes a long time is getting all of the residue off your trunk with Goo Gone. It's not really that bad because it's a new car (I did it on my old 95 Corolla & it took several hours). The holes aren't really filled, but the trunk is actually pretty thin & the tape is nearly flush. Other than that, I did exactly what you guessed.

Black Majik,

awesome advice. I've been wanting to do this since I got my car last August but couldn't stand the idea of paying a body shop $200-300 to fill the holes properly and respray the trunk lid. I'm going out tomorrow to buy the 3M tape and goo gone and I'll attack this the next warm (45+) day we have here. thanks.

also, I don't have 30lb test but have used dental floss with good results in the past so I'll try that here.
