Remove Sirius?

Hi everyone,

My Speed3 came with the Sirius box, and I have no use for it whatsoever. What's worse is that they didn't put the switchbox in that allows me to use the AUX jack which means I can't use my iPod in the car either.

I've priced the switchbox, and it's just more money then I care to spend. If I just unplug the Sirius from the back of the HU will that make the AUX jack work again, or does something else need to be done? If that's all I need to do, does anyone know exactly what steps have to be followed to get to the the back of the HU? A link to a post would work as well.

Thanks

Mike

When you unplug the sirius then you'll need to plug back in the ACI cable to the same port on the HU. They usually have it tucked behind a panel, or attached to another wire so that it doesn't bang around or rattle, so you may need to look a bit.

To remove the HU:
-Open the glove compt.
-hold the far right end of the dash strip against the dash with your right hand
-Grab the section of the dash strip on the left of the glove compt. (right of the LCD) and pull firmly backwards to release the tension clips.
-Once the clips above the glove box are released then gently flex the section to the right of the LCD to release the hook on the far right.
-Pull back on the dash strip to release the last clip to the left of the LCD.
-Unscrew the two screws holding the HU in (it's not necessary to remove the ones for the vent section)
-grab the top of the HU (the HU, not just the faceplate) and pull firmly towards the back of the car to release the tension clips. Unplug the wires/antenna from it and you can set about looking for the ACI plug.
