Have them beadblasted with plastic media, won't hurt your rims or tires.

how much does that go for? i also need ot get mine removed... and repainted hopefully got alot of curb damage that i had rewelded. looks nasty

It cost me $90 to have mine media blasted. Make sure you remove your center caps because those are plastic and will be eaten alive by the bead.

90 isnt that bad. does anyone know how much it would cost to get it powdercoated? at least that wouldnt come off unless you curb it again

I paid to have the clear finish powdercoated off, I doubt paint stripper will take that stuff off. I think Walmart sells AirCraft paint stripper.

are you just powdercoating one or the whole set? if you are going the powdercoat route, the tires must come off anyway because you have to bake the powder for it to bond to the wheel. you would probably be looking at around $125 or so per wheel to powdercoat (beadblasting was included in the price). not to mention you would have to have your tires removed (about $5 or so each), and then have them remounted and rebalanced (about $100 for the whole set). you would be looking at about $625 to do a set unless you know some people. not to mention your car will be down for about 2 days or so and the trips back and forth to the tire place.
this knowledge comes from experience. i had my set done and it looks killer in the sunlight, but there is a lot of hassle involved. i had mine done in sparkle silver and we left the lip polished.
ask topher if it looks good (everytime i see him he says "man i love your rims!!")
paint is the "easy" (probably cheaper) way to go, but it chips off over time (rocks being kicked up and what not). think about it and weigh the pros and cons of each.

(cool) kinda dirty, but you get the idea.

Use aircraft stripper to remove the paint. Duplicolor makes spray paint for wheels. Be careful with the tires, obviously :)

Check honda-tech, they have a good tutorial on how to do it. I'll have my friend find it for me and link it too. He is going to try it soon and if his look good, I may do my stockers. Perhaps bronze :D

I"ll be using paint stripper to remove the paint as for the Tire I don't care, those tires are done. my 02 rims will be my winter rims
