regular protege motor

I can pull it in less than an hour, and re-install in less than an hour...swaping all the parts over is the hardest part...if he has to swap the windage tray then it'll take a little longer cause he will have to wait for the gasket to seal but otherwise it's not that bad
He has to swap that, he has a hole in the block so I hope he didn't damage that. That was the hardest part to describe over the phone with the guy.

which other forum? haha, kindof vague since I'm already on 7 forums as it is hahahaha

ur the one with the orange car

lol, there's a lot of us with orange cars on here =P

yea that's what I'm hoping too...though it's pretty simple to tap the oil pan honestly, it's way easier

OH you were talking to him lol, I was like 'wha???' hahaha

btw, ninja edited above you bob

I explained to him that if that girdle piece is broken we'd have to tap the pan, it isn't perfect spot but it does work.

I've had multiple pans tapped for both my car and my friend's cars...it works pretty good from what I've seen, haven't run into any problems with it

especially if he switches to braided AN line instead of a hose, then it's a step up from stock

dude i would even rent a truck and haul my sh*$ over there. i just got to get my car on the road.

we can work something out then...just let us know when you get the motor and we will figure it out

I'm still waiting on him to say something about that motor. I got two set aside for me.

yea, but there is a lot more involved in that...you need to get the internals, gaskets, bearings, make sure the tolerances are in spec, get everything balanced, etc...etc...

you'd looking at about 3 grand on the low side to get it done right

both, but you're probably looking at more based on what the machine shop will charge for balancing and everything

trust me, it's a long list of parts that you don't need...just throw in a stock block, you only need to forge it if you are planning for big boost or high horsepower

I wont do internals myself on a high performance motor of this type. Me and Neox have had a few discusions about this already. I'll happily take it to my buddies machine shop to have him build it for me.
