recommendations for snow tires

Looking for positive recommends on snow tire sizes and brands. What other mfrs. plain steel wheels fit the P5( offset, hub size?). Also, what size and thread pitch lug nuts are on the P5, the dealer didn't know the answer to any of these ?

I use Dunlop GRASPIC DS-2 195/50R-16 on the stock rims. Great tires for the (low) price. And I live in lake effect snow country so they get regular workouts.

Offset 50mm, bolt pattern 5X114.3 lugnuts 12mmX1.5 hub 67.1

the new michelin tires that just came out for winter are amazing tires... the ones with the holes in them or w/e for the water to go up...(going off the commercial) haha i was very impressed with the grip from them. looking to get a set for next winter, mine wont last another season.

Best snow tire I have used so far are Toyo Observe GO2, Followed by BF Goodrich winter Slalom. As you can see from my location we get lots of snow.

Pat.

They are. IN the past 10 yrs, I've drove on 5-6 different sets on winter tires. I've used old Blizzak M1, Ws-50, WS-60, Michelin X-Ice 2, Dunlop Winter sport 3D, and Dunlop DS-1 and 2.

Right now I have the new Michelin X-Ice 2's are they are great, better than the others I've used. They're especially great on hard packed snow and really dig in deep snow.

But one thing is for sure, I would NEVER drive in winter without winter tires.

I run Dunlop Graspic DS2 on the stock msp rims 215/40/17

Great tires in hard pack and deep snow. I can actually turn and the car would follow.

Not so great when the streets are bare, but super cold surface. Like when the wind blows snow across the roads over a long period of time, it makes the road super slippery. Not black ice, but close.
