There have been a few threads on here debating oil...some mobile 1, some castrol, some royal purple. Do a search for oil and you will prolly find some good info.

Any Synthetic.

Royal Purple

Stick to the 10W30

Well I have been using Mobile 1 for awhile. Also you say 10W30. I have been running 5W30. Why would you do 10W30 instead?

mobil 1 extend. perf. oil and filter 15w50in summer -- 10w30 in winter.

love the stuff. too bad my car likes to burn it.

5W30 will burn easily. It is too thin..

Amsoil slips by my rings and burns, Like Mobil 1. Royal Purple is the first performance synthetic that I do not loose through the rings. I have perfect compression, but if I run Amsoil, I burn black smoke and the oil gradually goes down.

If anyone else experiences this, chime in and hen change to RP.

i used full synthetic, 5-30 on my first oil change, once it got warm it would knock on startup. couldnt hold the thin oil. i switched to regular ol' dinosaur oil, penzoil 5-30 and havnet had an issue since.

hmm was using mobile1 when my turbo went junk and started smokescreaning anyone behind me. maybe I'll try royal purple or redline next.

mobil 1 10w30 fully synthetic since forever. Tried royalpurple once didn't like it had it drained and put mobil 1 back in.

Alot of us however are running different kinds of oil so it probably doesnt really matter.

i use RP.. 5w30 in winter as we have very cold climat.. and 10w40 in summer.

very satified with the product

Currently using Mobil1 but I'm having a similar thing happen like what brian mp5t described. Will be going with Redline next...

I'm getting a little smoke with Amsoil right now. I never got it with RP so I will be switching back.

My car burns oil, did oil changes before 3,000 miles everytime in the begining, now I just add oil as I need it and don't get the oil changes when I should mainly cuz I'm adding new oil all the time.

After an oil change it takes maybe 3 weeks before I can notice any loss on the dipstick.

I use mobil 1. I ran royal purple and one point and really didn't notice much of a difference. Mobil 1 feels the same to me and its cheaper than royal purple.

Amsoil 5w30 all the way. If people are burning oil and such, the oil isnt the problem if you change it when you're suppose to, youve got some motor problems.

Well, Basically. Three of us have noticed that Amsoil passes by the rings and after swithcing it stops... I don't think your logic of it not being the oil is sound.

I basically teardown my motor every spring, I know my car so well I can literally hear when something is wrong and in this case, It's the oil not the motor..
