Mine was over $5000.00 with myself and TheMan doing most of the work.
I did not skimp on any parts, ceramic coated, dry filmed, balanced to nearest .5 gram, JDM cam, lightened steel flywheel yadda yadda.
It was a top down no holds barred rebuild. Bear in mind $700.00 went into the head alone. Doing it right aint cheap but it cost less than having to do it again because you went cheap on some parts or left something undone.
