Rear wiper size?

I've measured the blade a while ago but i lost my measuring tape.

I thought i measured 14" so i went to crappy tire and other places and can only find 13" and 15" so i put on a 13" and its way too small.

Do any of you know its size? Thanks.

You are correct, the OEM size is 14".

The CT 13" blades [assuming you're looking for winter blades] fit's fine.

It IS a bit shorter but it won't really matter since we can't really see s*** out the back window anyways.

I haven't tried looking at Walmart for winter blades though.

Thats what i tried a 13" CT winter blade and it really didn't wipe well...I guess its too stiff and doesnt curve on the window..I put the OEM one back on. Does this mean i have to get one from the dealership if my summer one wears out?

No you just need to look around more. Try an auto store. I don't think the winter ones are really intended to bend much. I just put some on the front of mine and had to go smaller on the pasanger side since at the time I couldn't find the right size. In the summer just put the other blades back on.

My Canadian Tire 13" wiper hugs the glass well but still doesn't clean as well like the OEM does at warmer temps.

My guess is that b/c the rear window get's really dirty easily, the dirt and debris collects on the wiper blade and makes it harder to do it's job.

I might just try cleaning the blade each time before I drive off. Either that or look for a stronger rear wiper spring.

On the other hand, the CT teflon winter blades on the front work fantastically with my Rain-X winter fluid.

You could always upgrade the arm with something like the 3 has. The arm almost looks like one peice with the wiper. This wouldn't allow for as mush snow and ice to clog up the wiper.

I got Teflon for the fronts, but only the regular ones for the rear b/c the CT book said that there were no 13" Teflon's.

I'll have to have a look at the 3's wiper arm.

I have never used my rear wiper in the 2 years that I have owned my car. I should check and see if it works sometime.

In winter, when driving on wet salty roads, its always on intermittent.

AJ, I cheapened out and bought the regular CT winter blades for the front...they arnt that good actually, they freeze up quite easily.
I had to get a 20" since they did not make 21". Did you find a 21"?

ToBeBackDoc, is the weather really that nice in St. Louis? ;)

OttawaP5, the CT Teflons I got were the 20" and 18". I just blindly followed what the book at CT said would fit our P5. All the winter blades I got from CT are 1" shorter than stock.

But honestly it doesn't really make that much of a difference. The 18" passenger side doesn't side completely flat on the glass, but once it's being used, you won't notice any difference.

In fact, these winter blades work BETTER than the stock ones at higher speeds!

I did notice that Walmart sells some "Plyon" brand or something similar in Teflon too. By then I'd already bought the CT ones.

No the weather here is terrible. I just don't like to use the rear wiper because if you have alot of dirt or buildup on the window the wiper will scratch it and leave that pattern across it.

I bought some 14" Anco blade refills and they were too long. So went with 13".

U guys buying refills or buying the whole thing?

Refills?

Can they be cut down to fit?

Yeah, refills is just the part with the rubber blade and a narrow strip of metal that the rubber attaches to. You can slide the old one out and slide the new one in.

Yeah, I suppose you can cut it down to fit, but I didn't want to deal with the mess of cutting it.

I bought refills for the front wipers from the dealership. Yeah, I was ripped off, $8 each!

Since a part of my old one was still ok I cut that and replaced the torn rear wiper with it, easy job.

Oh yeah, and before putting my refills in I WD-40'd all the joints in the wiper so it will countour to the window easier. It has helped, it's much better now.

rear wiper

The dealerships just might have the monopoly on that rear wiper. Out of all the replacements (brands, sizes and refills) I have tried, nothing seems to work as well as the OEM brand...Damn. And they are expensive too thanks to our dealers. Again,,,,Damn.

It is that strange curve to the rear glass and the weird size. They sure knew what they were doing to get us to come back for stuff that should be fine to buy at any auto parts store.

It is bizarre how only the OEM blade works. I can't find 14" anywhere so eventually I'll have to buy one from the dealer. I suppose one could just buy a 15" refill and cut one inch off.
